TalkTru- thanks ma'am! I was nervous for them lol. My youngest (Light hair) cried at first when I started doing it but then she saw herself and thought she was cute. Couldnt stop asking me to take pictures this morning. My oldest just thought she was the ish from the get go it was too funny!

They are adorable! They are more brave than many adults, too. I hope they continue to enjoy their hair.

Very cute! I wish I had big chopped at that age. How long did they transition? They both have a lot of hair.

Is there any particular reason why they wanted their hair cut?

I was just never very conscious of hair at this age.

Congrats to you all! I wish I had went back natural sooner too. I hope they enjoy it because its a lovely thing to not rely on relaxers (no offense/to anyone). Sometimes it's easier for us.

They are conscious about everything but I asked them if they were ready for me to cut it (they were fighting with each other lol) bc I was going to do them both a bun (which I did and they messed it up fighting) and my oldest said okay. I had asked them earlier that day when they wanted to cut their hair and they wanted to but I was chicken and I dont think they new it was going to be short. I think they thought I was just going to trim it. But I said "cut" up to the new growth. Which I explained to them the curly part. My other one didnt know what I was doing at first. She was just collecting the hair in her hand as I was cutting it and then was like "Mommy what are you doing?" Then she realized I was cutting it. Thats the one that started crying until she saw it. Then she couldnt stay out of the mirror this morning and asking me to take a thousand pics. She asked me if it was going to look like mine and I told them yes it will be a little shorter than mine. So far so good bc they actually like it! I'm shocked bc as a child I would be crying for days but I explained their healthy natural hair journey as much as I can and made sure they knew that when they get older if they choose to relax then thats fine bc it will be their choice but right now I'm trying to get them healthy natural hair. They already had pretty healthy relaxed hair (aside from a few ends). Sorry so long LOL!!!

OP... just make sure you monitor the girls feelings about this as the cut gets old... especially since your younger daughter reacted negatively at first. There is a poster on YT who did a couple of videos about her doing a BC on her daughter. There was a lot of anxiety down the line and she ended up wishing she had done a long-term transition. You want to be able to quickly pick up the pieces if there are problems.
