All claim to do this or that,
but it's all making my head SPIN!!!:spinning: :spinning: :spinning:

Do any of you have any 'reports'
on any one of these oils?

They claim to either be good for hair
or help stimulate growth.

Ladies,
tell me what you know!

Ladies,

I tried to use mustard oil as a hot oil treatment, but the smell was too much for me. It smells like... hot funky gas.:perplexed I ended up using is as an pre-oil treatment whenever I henna-ed my hair. My husband said i smelled like curried chicken- smh.

I've never used black seed on my hair, but I use the soap for my face and I really like it.

Hi,I have a homemade mix of all three that I use as a pre poo..Works very well at preventing shedding & provides great shine....

*Its a great addition to use in your Dc..The mustard oil adds a lot of moisture..

Happy Hair Growing!

I've been using the Black Seed Oil for a while now. I use it to pre-poo, or in my conditoner. It helps with hair growth and helps with shedding. I also take Black Seed Oil capsules, which help with a variety of aliments!!

So happy that you made a thread about this OP. I was online checking out the benefits of the black seed cream for the skin. But now that I'm these posts, i'll even consider it for my hair as well :)

I've used mustard oil and emu oil. Mustard oil does have a funny smell but I can tolerate it. It gets my hair super soft. I love emu oil for growth. I've used on my edges after a lace front incident and my daughter has used it on her edges after braids and to grow out a patch of hair. Emu is very light but it's expensive. To me it's worth the cost. It's always in my GA mix

I love emu oil as it makes my hair feel elastic and softer. It's also suppose to penetrate the skin 7 times more readily than other oils, so I mix it with castor oil to massage into my scalp. Seems to be helping with my growth, so it's a holy grail for me.

I find mustard seed oil very cooling, so I tend to use it mainly in the summer. I also like to add some when I need a protein treatment to stale yoghurt.

Thanx for the responses.

Where are you all ordering from?

I mostly order from ebay,
but I am curious as to where
others order from.

I had (and Loved Black Cumin Seed Oil) I ran out & never replaced. I got it from: From Nature With Love. Would Definitely repurchase it again, at some point.

I also had Emu early in my HHJ. Way to expensive for the amount. Ran out & never replaced.

Both resulted in Shiny, Soft Hair.

I just ordered Pure Mustard Seed Oil

Oils are highly regarded to have healing properties by the eastern hemisphere, specifically Indian Women. My mother who is Indian has explained to me that:

Coconut oil is rich in Lauric acid and helps to promote hair growth and reduce protein loss when it is warmed up and massaged into the scalp 2-3 times a week before a head bath. It is also cooling when applied to the scalp.

Sesame oil has anti bacterial and anti fungal properties good for curing dandruff and dry scalp. It is also known to darken the hair and make it shiny and lustrous. It also promotes hair growth.

Sweet Almond oil is readily absorbed into the skin and hair without being too greasy.

Hazelnut Oil is rich in oleic acid and has astringent properties. It quickly absorbs into the skin and will not break you out even if you have oily skin. It helps to tighten the pores. It leaves the hair shiny without weighing it down or making it too greasy.

Mustard Oil has a pretty dank scent but is primarily used in Southern India to oil the hair before a head bath. It is supposed to darken the hair and leave it shiny and lustrous as well.

Neem Oil has many healing properties and can be used to cure scalp conditions. However the oil has a pretty rancid odor.

Amla Oil is very popular if not the most popular besides Coconut Oil. It is said to have strengthening properties and to promote hair growth if massaged into the scalp before shampooing several times a week.

I went to an Indian Grocer today to get some on ground henna. I walked in and they had herbs, and oils. I just bought the herbs today but they had sesame, mustard seed oil and clove. The people are going to end up knowing my name.
