Why is it taking me forever to find a good leave-in conditioner for my hair. I have tried so many leave-ins that my hair is probably laughing each time I apply a new one. Seriously, it should not be this difficult. I plan to go to the beauty supply store this weekend to see if I can grab about 2-3 more leave-ins to try next week. Before I go, does anyone have any recommendations? I will quickly list the leave-ins I've tried so far in my journey.

Thanks in advance for all of your suggestions. Be on the look out for some leave-in product reviews.

Have you tried the KT lv-in? I tried several w/ no success before that one. I need a thicker lv-in during colder months. I use the basic things she suggests but I use Garnier Fructis as my base and add a couple of tablespoons of a ceramide like hemp oil+SAA. I have never found a commercial lv- in that worked as is for me:nono:.

silicon mix leave-in conditioner is really good and it contains ceramides. a little goes a long way for me, i had a really hard time finding a good leave in so i decided to try it and i fell in love lol.it costs anywhere from $5-$8 depending on where you buy it

Prudent1...I've tried KCKT and wasn't in love with it. It wasn't very moisturizing. I even tried it as the Kimmaytube leave it and got the same results.

niqu92....I will see is the BSS near me caries it. Thanks.

YoursTrulyRE,
Oh no KT= KimmayTube. I wasn't impressed with KCKT at all:spinning:. Even when I added stuff to it:ohwell:. What about Garnier Fructis with your favorite oil(s) added? I don't mind being a bit of a mixologist but it's not for everyone. It was the only way I found a creamy leave in my hair liked. I do hope you find something soon though:yep:. I think this has been a huge part in me being able to retain during the winter.

The only consistent leave ins that I have used and like is ASIAN and PM the conditioner(but I saw this one in graveyard:()

I just use a moisturizer or regla conditioner as a leave-in. After searching for years and years, I have yet to find an adequate leave-in. The best one that I've come across is TLC Naturals Hibiscus Leave-In, but it smells flowery and you said you don't want that. :(

If you decide to try it, you could always put some of your own scent in there to cover it up. Maybe some orange or lemon eo or something. (?)

ETA: HOOOOOW could I forget Pura Murumuru Lotion? *facepalm* THAT is the best leave-in that I've found. It's the first one that left my hair soft when it fully dried. Awesome stuff, and it smells awesome.

Belegenza EnCore. Expensive, but fantastic. You may catch it on sale under $15. It's my new boo. :giggle:

OP you are where I was a little over 7 months ago.

Then I found Qhemet Biologics Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee. Excellent long term moisture.

Qhemet products can be hard to come by (like right now, people are seemingly getting hostile over the almost 3 month wait for their, what was supposed to be, holiday sale) so I've been attempting to find another products which matches the moisturizing power of CTDG and so far Pura Body Naturals Murumuru is the only product I've used that comes close.

I've reviewed both of these product on my blog (detailed product photos and photos of my hair when using) if you are interested.

ETA:
Most of those conditioners you listed are in the hair product grave for me too!

I actually just went back to using Oyin Hair Dew as a leave-in today and LOVED it!!! Better than KCKT...but....i don't know how you feel about smelling like cookies:look:

You could always use your favorite regular conditioner as a leave in too.

Thanks ladies for all of your advice. It helps to know that others had a hard time finding a good leave-in as well.

SouthernGirl...I have heard of Darcy's Botanical. May have to check and see if Sage carries this brand. And thanks for sending out the batman call to the other ladies to chime in.

winona...PM conditioner makes my hair dry for some reason but my friend's hair loves it so I gave it to her. What is ASIAN?

westNDNbeauty...I may have to go to Sage and pick some CTDG tomorrow. She said she should be getting a shipment in sometime tomorrow.

JeterCrazed....Where do you get Belegenza EnCore from? Online or the BSS?

tiffers...I have some fragrance under the sink so I may give the TLC Naturals Hibiscus Leave-In a try and see if I can calm down the floral scent.

SmilingElephant...I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about the Honey Dew. Maybe if I can find a sample size I will give it a try.

I use the Kimmaytube leave in as well and when I am lazy I'll just use the Giovanni conditioner that I use in the mix as my leave in. Her's is the best I've ever used in my hair and is definitely a staple.

Keracare Leave-in - it fits all your criteria!

N.B If you don't like protein then you may not like the Kimmaytube receipe as Aloe Vera juice acts on my hair the same way protein does.....dry and strawlike.

Hi! I like pure hair milk,Camille rose milk,TLC naturals hibiscus leave-in,bear fruit desert moisturizing leave in,bear fruit African export leave- in &cctdg qhemet...

Happy Hair Growing!

Sage restocked today and and they are flying off the shelves. I've been watching the stock and in the last hour 10 of them have been purchased. You may want to call in and reserve yours for pick up or something.

L'Oreal's EverCreme leave in is very good. It does have a bit of a vanilla scent, but it's not overbearing. I HATE vanilla-scented products, but this leave in smells so good!

CVS has it on sale until tomorrow for $6.

I am still using the old school leave in Emergency 911! Lol! If I can't find that I use Aphogee Leave in.

Shea Moisture's leave-in is a great one. I have only seen it online. Also Curl Junkie's smoothing lotion is an excellent one. Neither has protein and both are moisturizing. The CJ one is a little pricey, but you can get it on sale.

westNDNbeauty what is the address to your blog?

Have you tried rusk sensories calming smoothing leave in? The scent is passionflower / aloe but it's not overpowering. I can sometimes find it at marshalls for 8 bucks or alternately ULTA. The consistency is thick and it always leaves my hair soft with no build up. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way.

westNDNbeauty...thanks for the heads up. I will be there at noon when she opens to pick one up.

brooklyngal73....I'm loving the $6 price tag. Will try this out. Especially from CVS since I can try it and if I don't like it I can return it.

Bublin...the Kimmaytube leave-in did the same to my hair. I may have to try the KeraCare. Do you use the one from the texture line or the original?

SeeLexus...I tried it. I don't think my hair liked the amount of Aloe Vera. It left my hair really dry. :ohwell:

JeterCrazed...thanks for the coupon deal. for $20 bucks its definitly worth trying.

Ann0804....I have the Cj smoothing lotion. I haven't tried it as a leave-in yet. But I will tomorrow morning. :yep:
