I think this lady makes how easily you can overload on protein very very clear.
I personally have recently been posting about protein-overload as a possible reason as to why some ladies are complaining about persistant dry/brittle/breaking hair...against a tide of members who constantly recommend increasing the use of protein and/or use of a clarifier and i honestly shake my head
.
If you have been using protein and your hair is still breaking then you need moisturising products and you need to actually read the labels before you put it in your hair. Do not rely on the fact that the label says hydrating or conditioning.
I am convinced this is the reason because it happened to me. Every single product i used for probably over a year contained protein. Nearly all product hypes/recommendations contained significant amounts of protein. Honestly when i look back, its a wonder how i have hair on my head. The breakage and shedding was quite frankly embarrassing and messy
.
I'm only about 3 weeks into my moisture only regimen and my hair is still a tad hard to the feel but is soooo much better and breakage has significantly reduced. I made the mistake of putting a protein laden conditioner in my hair last week because i wanted to use it up; the label said Conditioning & Revitalising Soy Milk
erplexed. Instantly my hair turned to straw.
For those who haven't seen it i hope it gets the message across.
