Are there any naturals here who do this??? If so, could you give your regi, products used, and/or advice on how this is possible? Is this even possible at all do you think?:look:

TIA

I'm natural. My straightening regimen is here.

How often are you referring to when you say 'straighten regularly'? I get my hair flat ironed once a month, and it hasn't tampered with my natural pattern.

Also, what kind of heat protectant do you use?

Great post! I'm thinking about doing straightening every 1 or 2 months to avoid single strand knots and the split ends that come from them. But I'm also afraid of the damage that will come from the heat. I just straightened with an electric hot comb. I have not been able to get the results I want with a flat iron.

I blow dry flat iron twice a month using Lustrasilk shea butter conditioner, CHI Silk infusion, Aphogee Pro-Vitamin leave in and Aphogee 2 step once in a while. I think this is possible because of the low maintenance no heat week I have allowing me to only straighten twice a month. I see improvement in my hair from doing this instead of four times a month (not that my hair was bad before). I think the protein helps too.

I'll ask my stylist the next time I go in. I haven't flat ironed my own hair since October 2010. I just let her do it once a month.

Ok thanks Allandra. I am just really trying to avoid heat damage!!!:yep:
