has anyone tried any of these, please leave reviews of products, good or bad...

The pure stuff from Morocco. There's nothing wrong with diluting it though - the stuff is so strong that you can add just a little to blends to get the effect.

The Pure Argan from HennaSooq, Camden Grey. Right now I using one I got from ebay imported from Israel (but I think it's cosmetic grade):ohwell:

The Morocoan Oil you have pictured is mainly silicone, if you check the ingredients it has little argan oil in it. It would be good as a heat protectant, but not very nourishing to the hair.
I used to use the Moroccan oil that i got from my trip to Marrakech but since that has now ran out i use melvita argan oil which is cosmetic grade (no smell of nuts) and is of an excellent quality. It makes my hair more elastic when i use it in a dc.

I've used both the Procclaim and the Moroccanoil argan oil serums. In addition to the serums, I purchased and used the shampoo, and conditioner from both lines. I wanted to have the whole line to assess my results.

Procclaim version - shampoo was average. Conditioner was very nice with good slip. Oil or serum finishing was nice feeling, but the scent was very strong - patouli (sp?). Overall I found that my hair FELT good, but I saw no real improvement with it's condition. Then I worried that the serum is just so silicone laden, that my hair really wasn't benefitting any. I've shelved this and will most likely give or throw away.

So, I felt like using the Moroccanoil version would be a step up. I purchased the shampoo, rinse out conditioner and the finishing oil (serum). I liked the shampoo, my hair felt soft immediately. I also liked the rinse out conditioner...wonderful scent and very nice slip. Again, the finishing serum made my hair FEEL good. It looked good too, better than with the Procclaim version. However, again with this heavy silicone and the actual oil so far down the ingredient list.... My hair swang wonderfully, and blinged like crazy..but was somehow coated. This stuff makes drying super fast (I airdry), so that was nice. My hair just didn't act right after a few uses. It felt soft, but wasn't improved because I seemed to notice more little broken pieces of hair in the sink.

I had been convinced after seeing a fabulous review on youtube that this line would be the ultimate. Not so much for me. This product will be shelved as well. I'm not interested in even trying the deep conditioners at this point. Too pricey for mediocre results.

Hope that helps someone!

InBloom, that helps a lot... I was considering Proclaim because a cheaper version, but Iunno about Moroccanoil as it is pretty pricey... I know a couple of girls that go to my salon with like waist length, well one is black one is Domincian, both have that length, and they swear by it, my beautican suggested I buy it...

See, I'm a heat user and have to be selective with my products. Neither of those lines did anything to improve or better protect my hair. I did like the LOOK of the results. Perhaps if I didn't use heat, the Moroccanoil would be stash-worthy. I'm much better off with my L'anza Healing Moisture and Healing strength lines. You know how sometimes you're simply looking for something that MIGHT be better than what you're using? That's what my deal was.

What's the difference between cosmetic and food grade when it comes to topical application (skin & hair)?

I didn't like the smell of the food grade. It's not a bad smell but it's very strong and you can't really overpower it with essential oils. Some ppl feel this way about e.g. castor oil or unrefined shea butter - I have no probs with the natural smell of either of those but I can do without the smell of cooking argan oil. That could also be personal preference. There is no difference between the two when used on skin or hair - both are good.

AnjelLuvsUBabe how r they using the argan oil? On their scalp or hair, in their conditioner? I wonder really what is so great about it. I bought a bottle of pure argan oil fr camden grey and I love the fact that its light! I'm not a fan of oil but this oil seems to absorb pretty quickly. So far I've been using it on my scalp. I'm also gonna try adding it to my conditioners.

Sent using Sprint HTC

Brittster, from what I recall, one girl (dom. one) has both serum and leave-in, so she uses as a leave-in to go under dryer and the serum as a heat protectant for blow out...

the black chic, darn I feel bad saying race, or whateva, but yea, she uses serum for rollersetting, her hair is really the bomb.com.. It is at waist length for reals, neva seen it in person, she was first, of course seen others after her... her is is nice and thick, she perms... And i do not think she is mixed, as again it is like a family shop so I seen family, like cousins, moms, grandmom come into store over time...

actually it seems all the people that go to my lil mom and pop shop eventually have long hair... i keep cuttin mines, and my beautican is like come on let it grow out more for me I think she gets a thrill outta it...

ok end rant... Lol...

I've tried the Proclaim version and liked it better than another one (can't remember the name) I found at Sally's. My hair did feel soft and I keep saying I'm going to buy more but I'm too lazy. My hair does like cones so that is not a problem for me

AnjelLuvsUBabe, thanks! Maybe you should just try it then! I know the Moroccan line gets a lot of praises and people like it. You're lucky to have a stylist that seems vested in hair health. Shoot, maybe you should go more often lol.

AnjelLuvsUBabe, if you don't mind, pm or post the name of the shop and stylist please! I neeeeeeeds a decent stylist! HHG!

I use the one from Sally's Beauty called "One and Only" Moroccan Argan Oil...it's light and does the job. I've been using this since 2009.

I have Josie Maran from Sephora. They have a small size that doesn't break the bank and it has a dropper top.

Last time I was at WF, I noticed they had argan oil and some other ones too (babassu was one iirc).

ETA: Yea I just use pure argan oil, not the silicone-laden serums.

Argan oil is multipurpose cosmetic product. It can be used for skin, hair, facial and nails care. It restores the natural freshness and adds to the softness of the skin and face. It makes the hair strong by penetrating easily into the roots and feeding them with rich nutritional components. Out of shape, weak and easily breakable nails and cracked cuticles are repairable by using Argan oil.

Method of usage of Argan oil

Argan oil is rich in essential nutritional components for skin and hair. It is therefore not required to use Argan oil in large quantity. A few drops of Argan oil are sufficient for applying on skin. However it is desirable to apply it thoroughly into the hair and the skin on the roots of hair. It is often used as a mixture of Argan oil, sweet Almond oil and Rose oil, however pure raw Argan oil can also be used although in much low volume.

Application on Skin

In case of pure raw Argan oil only a few drops of Argan oil are required. For facial usage very gentle massage is needed because of the easily absorbable attribute of Argan oil. It can be used in place of other freshening creams or lotions at night for curing dryness of the face. On wrinkles and other scars caused by some skin disease, small volume of Argan oil once or twice a day is enough to get the desirable results. It has a soothing effect for Arthritic and Rheumatic conditions as well. It is better to use Argan oil regularly to preempt stretch marks especially during pregnancy. But it is never too late in case of Argan oil. Argan oil can be massaged gently over stretch marks, and it will restore the elasticity of the skin and engulf the stretch marks. Non-greasy and non-oily nature of Argan oil makes it a very good make-up base as well for women.

Application on Nails

Normally a 50-50 mixture of Argan oil and lemon juice is used for application on nails. Dip you fingers up to the cuticles into Argan oil mixture for a few minutes. It will be enough for giving strength to the easily breakable nails and for the smoothness and good shape of the cuticles. Toes of feet can similarly be treated with Argan oil.

Application on Hair

Argan oil can be applied on hair in two ways. First, some half hour before shampooing you hair, apply the Argan oil on the scalp and throughout the hair. Softly massage on your head with the help of fingertips and palm of the hand. Then use some brush or comb to apply the oil from roots to tips of hair and evenly distribute the oil throughout the head. Wrapping of oiled head in a warm towel for some time before washing will be even better. You can shampoo your hair after a few minutes. It can also be used to give fresh and wet look to hair after taking bath. It does this job better than the wet gels. Three to four drops applied in hair with the help of brush or fingers would add to the luster and freshness of hair before going out.

I got my argan oil from camden grey essentials... good price, good quality. I like it.

I use the same one. 100% pure Argan Oil. Great price. I can't believe some people are being ripped off buying Argan Oil from more "commercial" brands like Josie Maran. The amount she gives you for $50, you can find online for $10.

I have both of the blue ones you posted and one that comes with a brown label... I use the on with the pump more but change depending on which one I see/grab first...they are all pretty good and a little goes a long way
