does this happen to anyone else?

Most places i have 1/4 a month but in my crown i have 1/2in to 1 inch a month.

Yes some people have different growth rates. I don't know what my growth rate is really. I just know my hair grows faster in the front, then the crown then the very back. So my front is always longer than my back.

I know some people have trouble areas in their crown so it grows slower. It's good that yours grows fast. :yep:

The front of my head grows fast. The back creeps. If the back was as long as the front, I'd be APL instead of dusting SL.

Yes. My bang area grows the absolute slowest.

My bang took 2 years to get from eye length to chin length, while the back went from neck length to APL.

:spinning: wow glad to know Im not the only one, nape, 5, crown 6 front almost 8 inches

Yes, my edges all the way around my head grows slowly. There's a patch on the left side of my head that grows faster then the rest and seems to be stronger for some reason. Just the one little patch :perplexed: The rest is of my head is relatively slow. I hate being a slow grower.

left grows faster than the right (3/4 of an inch/month) and the crown and back comes in second (0.5 inch/month). mid nape- last. ( maybe a bit more than1/4 inch/month) So at times it looks like a "W" in the back. But the funny thing is that it always seems to catch up and even out at a point and then goes back to these different growth rates. That's why I am slow to cut even. I would chop off all my progress if I did. I think stylists used to try and even my hair up all the time when it does this and that's why I never saw growth. Now, I just dust and maybe trim based on the condition of my ends, not to make an even hemline. When I reach my goal length ??? I'll just stay there and let it all even up completely. For now, just letting it do what it does.

The hair in my crown grows the fastest. The sides of my hair grow so slow is ridiculous, it's like they don't know what to do.

Same here!
I seem to have fast growth at the front and at my crown but not so much in the back. I am 8 week post and I have very uneven growth. About 1 inch in front and maybe 1/2 inch in the back.

Has anyone had trouble relaxing because of uneven growth? Do you perhaps set different processing times for each section? I'm relaxing next week and would love rt know. TIA!

As strange as it may seem, when my hair was relaxed my crown grew the fastest and hence was the longest...Now that i'm natural, my nape is the longest, grows the fastest and has a prettier texture.

My sides are second and my bangs are trying to compete and honestly, my bangs inpress me. My lazy crown however is the thickest, slowest and most resistant to combing. All the areas mentioned too have different textures:yep:

All in all though my hair keeps surprising me and i'm glad i'm on the natural side of the mountain!

I have different growth rates too. My nape grows the fastest and my crown the slowest. I also notice that the different textures in my hair sometimes have different retention rates. For instance, my crown is dryer and more prone to breakage. It's delicate and needs to be babied. That's probably part of the reason that it seems to grow slower for me.

The front of my hair grows slower than back (either that or I cause more breakage to this part of my hair from overcombing and heat styling).

Also the right side of my hair always grows longer than the left. And there's one part of my hair on the right side that is always about an inch and half longer than the rest of the right side.

Yup! My back left side/nape grow faster than the right (and I sleep on the left side often). The front seems to grow a little more slowly. And the crown is like, "Grow? Why? Whatchu gonna give me if I do?" or something because it seems to stop and stare at the growth around it without moving its own strands. Annoying.

Or... I neglect to wash, condition, moisturize and seal my crown as well as the other parts of my hair and it gets sad and commits suicide by jumping off of my head (breakage). Or it's just slow. Dumbass.

I'm a little angry at the crown. I probably need to love it more

ETA: I also have 3 different textures to go along with my growth rates. The crown makes tiny corkscrew curls, some feel silky, but most feel dry as hayle. The very back and sides have a weird wave/curl pattern, looser, shinier/silkier than the rest of my hair and doing me no good shining from all the way back there. The front is kinky straight, fuzzy and easy to manipulate. All of my hair is a kinky, curly something that likes to give me attitude from time to time.

Story of my life.

I'm 11 inches at the crown and the front but the back... let's just say I've been SL for some time. :ohwell:
