Anyone else suffering from this disorder? I hear from the heavy-handed ladies all the time, what about the frugal gals, who are using a dab of this and a dab of that, trying to pro-long the use of a cream, gel or oil?

This has been my issue and it has affected results that certain products can give to my hair. Most of the time when I'm applying an oil, I am going to wash it out several hours later or the very next day. I stil find myself using a drop on pieces of my hair and the results add up to nothing.

Yesterday, I applied oil, doing some twists. I was in a hurry, so I just used the oil spout (which has a small hole). I just used that as my applicator into parts of my scalp and massaged it in and down the twists. It was more oil than I've EVER used, I thought my hair was going to be greasy, instead I felt a moisture that was heaven. There was no dripping oil, my hair just felt right.

Do any of you go through this?

 - At title & being guilty.

I did this for awhile. On some products I learned, stingy is not always better. Now I try to gauge by the product.

Like for me, most cleansing conditioners, and cheapies I need to use a lot to make it work. I was being stingy with Aveda DR, well cuz its just not enough in that lil tube to use a lot. But when I was trying to finish it up, I ended up using more then usual and the product worked better and loved the results. Same w/ Bear Fruit cleansing cream. I was thinking I ain't buying this again! Then in trying to finish product, used more and fell in love.

Cute thread! I have nothing else to contribute. I'm as heavy-handed as you can get! :p

Before LHCF I was stingy...then I became heavy handed ....now that I have all my tried and true favourites/staples I've gone stingy again and here I'll stay:yep:

LOL...I get stingy when I'm running out of product and too lazy to go buy some more. But for the most part..I'm a little heavy handed (and not proud of it)

I'm stingy because 1) i'm cheap-my stuff needs to last forever!! 2) my hair likes my products, but doesn't need much of them since they're pretty good quality 3) too much product weighs my hair down and makes it look flat.

My husband teases me all the time because I'm so light-handed with products...anything from lotion and shower gel, to hair cream and oil. Even diaper cream for my baby! I don't know why I'm this way but I've been trying to be more heavy handed with my hair and oil in the past couple of weeks and I have definately noticed a difference.

I have no idea why I'm this way! lol Glad to know I'm not the only one!

I have always been heavy handed. When I was younger my sister and I would get into arguments because I would use a ton of conditioner (even though it was cheap.lol). My mom would get mad at me too. I can't be stingy. I have a tendency to go overboard and mess around and get greasy hair, but it will absorb. Plus, I kind of like my hair to feel a little greasy because I know it won't dry out. Also, I got too much hair to be being stingy.lol.

I'm a stingy product user, but it works for me because my hair doesn't like alot of stuff on it. It can take me years to finish up a shampoo, oil, or moisturizer.
The only thing I'm heavy handed with is my conditioners because my hair is really dense

I'm scared to be stingy. I wanna be sure I use enough to keep this head tight!

Funny!

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to work on it. It's not with all products, but most. I've started adding more and my hair feels much better.

Money is no object when it comes to the handfuls of conditioner I use! I deep condition for three hours minimum so that makes me feel at least I'm getting some milage out of it. Also, I haven't seen had dry ends in sooo long and it only costs me $100 a year. Worth it!!!!

For me, stingy leads to useless results and emotional frustration. I'm heavy handed and it works.

I am sooo heavy handed with conditioner. But I recently started using AOHSR conditioner and I have been so stingy with it! There isn't much in the bottle and I hate shelling out 8 bucks every 2 or 3 weeks. I keep mixing it with honey and EVOO to stretch it out. I need to see if it is sold in professional sizes or something.
