Okay, so I have been shedding like a dog for the past two weeks and am trying to figure out the cause. The only thing that I know I'm doing differently is taking my vitamins. Two weeks ago, I ran out of my hair, nail, & skin vitamins and have not managed to stop by the store to get more, so that may be the cause. I've just ordered some and will hopefully receive them this week. This has to stop or I'm going to suffer a setback. This is crazy (see pic below).

Does anyone else shed this much and is there anything I can do to stop it. I've started do the garlic oil treatments and plan to try a black tea rinse.

For now, I've decided to only take down my hair on wash days. I can't stand to see the hair coming out.

I recently started to shed about the same amount as you have shown daily. I go through spurts where I barely shed and then the shedding increases. I am not sure why. I have never had a setback from it though. I am keeping my eye on it this time.

I always start to shed when I don't have my vitamins or when I'm stressed or the season changes. Right now fall is just rolling in so that may be why.
I'd grab some Aubrey Organics GPB Conditioner. It stops my shedding automatically but not nearly harsh as Aphogee... I'd do it whenever I have a wash day until the shedding stops.

Definitely try the black tea rinse. I find that stops my shedding. I brew a very strong tea with others herbs like horsetail and nettle and let it sit on my hair for a half hour and rinse.

I'm doing this tonight BC my shedding is out of control. I also take garlic tabs & nioxin scalp treatment

I shed like that when I stretch. I don't worry about it unless I see breakage.

Judging by how long your hair is, that really doesn't seem too bad. But I totally get that anything more shedding than the usual is a lot to us lol :yep:.

I have no advice, just wanted to throw that in there.

I shed about half of that every week (which is normal for me). Mine is probably due to my hair being so thick.

Being off vitamins can really cause that much shedding? Color me shocked!

I do black tea rinses after a shampoo/cowash, then I apply DC OVER the tea rinse ( I do not wash the tea out), and DC for at least 30 mins. And then rinse everything out. HTH.

I tried various remedies that target shedding and it did nothing for my hair. I really like Alter Ego Garlic. It's expensive but works (IMO). My shedding increases a few weeks before TU, a few weeks after TU and if I go too long without shampooing.

My hair has been shedding like crazy too for the past few months.

After brewing black tea and letting it cool down, how long do you leave the tea on your scalp before rinsing?

black coffee also works. I don't use tea or coffee because of hypertension however herbal teas work fine. Salerm Placenta leave in in the vial is excellent par none at stopping shedding in its tracks.

Thanks ladies for all the replies. I've started my vitamins again and I'm going to try the black tea rinse next weekend.
