I don't think anyone has. I asked some time ago. I was thinking of going to them for my BC...but I hear they are scissor happy and I'll be danged if I went through this year-long + transition to get up from the chair with TWA! :lachen:

i watched a few videos of him doing hair and he seems like he uses a lot of heat to style the hair.

Too much heat I agree, she could stretch her roots by braiding hair and taking down when it's dry or pineapple hair on top of head over night. That's just two ways I could think of off the top of my head.

I got my hair flatironed a cut by Dickey twice. The first time he did my hair ( at the tina pearson salon), it looked FABULOUS... my hair had mucho movement..I had head turning hair. I decided to get my hair done by him again this year for my birthday at the hair rules salon. I did not have a good experience. I made an appointment with Dickey and he had his assistant wash, blowdry and flatiron my hair. He just quickly cut my hair at the end which ended up to be just an "ok" hair cut. I was very dissappointed. I will no be returning. Thats my personal experience.

yeah he def subscribes to the shingling method with all that stretching out the curls

agree pineappling would prob produce the same results

MWilson569so he no longer blowdrys or flat irons? you pay extra to see him right? so your paying the assistant not him?

I recently read his book and it was pretty much standard LHCF fare. He did say that you could use temporary hair color to permanently color gray hair. According to his book, it would stain the gray hair permanently.

The lady at Sally's didn't seem to agree with that. I chickened out and haven't tried it yet.

Embyra , I did pay extra to see him. The first time I saw him he did my hair from shampoo to the finishing cut. Therefore I was surprised at the service I received this last time I saw him. I have no idea if this is a usual thing for him or not. All I know is that if I book an appointment with a specific stylist I think that person should be doing my hair. If I knew an assistant would be doing my hair, I would have gone someplace else and saved my money.

MWilson569smmfh i have seen his prices the nerve of him to take the money knowing he wasnt going to do anything

i would have complained what kind of mess is that:nono::nono:

I was just gong to post the same thing. In addition to so1913, Caligirl was also a client. I remember asking her about her experience a few years back. His book is good. I purchased it back in 2003 (IMO ground breaking for that time) before I found LHCF.

I've been to his salon for a trim and color. He was there but my appointment was with one of the colorists (I can't remember her name) and stylist Daley. Daley was great! She's a natural girl with a head full of gorgeous hair. I plan on visiting her again when I'm in need of a trim.

LadyRaider how do you use temporary hair color to permanently color gray hair?

Well according to the Hair Rules book, temporary color will permanently stain gray hair. Like I said, I went to Sally's to give it a whirl, but the little salesgirl seemed awfully dubious that it would work, so I didn't try it.

I'm going to try Herbishines next because it is supposed to have no ammonia.
