nzuri hair vitamins in liquid form?

Hi guys, I am trying to find out if anyone has ever used the Nzuri Elixir. It's a liquid vitamin suitable for the hair, skin and nails. Said to be multi functional, can be added to your shakes, taken just as is, and even applied topically to the skin for additional benefits.

and then I saw these videos of people saying how they used it and it really helped their skin and hair, but I know I take up these things with my LHCF sisters too just to get opinions.

Well, I haven't used it but "nzuri" means good in Swahili so...

On a serious note, I looked at the ingredients and I don't see anything particularly special about it. For example if I compare the contents with what's in Vitol's Great Hair, I see the biotin, B5, vitamin C, vitamin A are higher in the Vitol than in this vitamin. Also Nzuri refers to amino acids...but unless they are in the "proprietary blend" they seem invisible in the ingredient listing. Also I think "most comprehensive hair vitamin" is a bit of a stretch. The Vitamin Shoppe's Hair Elements supplemental facts is as follows:

In hair vitamins, you'll find some things in one are missing in another or the quantities vary. Doesn't mean that the one with the largest quantities of the hair essentials is the best or will work best for everyone, but I believe the one with most complete/varied collections of "hair specific nutrients" would be the one that is most likely to work for many--since for a supplement to make a difference, your body must be lacking in the nutrient it provides. If you already get them in your diet, then taking it won't make a difference. But the more different nutrients there are included, the more likely that one may find one that their body needed. Hence my encouragement to people to get a full multi.

I also think people get so caught in one aspect of their bodies and forget that for things to work properly, the WHOLE body must be taken care of. So taking a multi just for hair may also fail to work coz your body is lacking other building blocks that would make the system work well to process say, hair vitamins and deliver them to follicles. Remember, your hair only gets served if your body is happy...otherwise all the "health" you are trying so hard to send to hair stops at the organs that are in need of it and more important as far as your body is concerned.

So IMO it's better to ensure you're getting a full multi first, and then find a hair one that doesn't make you overdose in oil-soluble supplements by bringing in more of the same coz toxicity could thwart your efforts. Alternatively, The Vitamin Shoppe's Hair Skin & Nails provides nearly all the vitamins and minerals found in a regular multi as well as some hair-useful herbs, so while it's focused on what majority on this forum care about, it is not omitting supplements that would make the human machine be in good condition. And if the entire machine is well oiled, then all parts will be in better shape...including the hair.

That said, Nzuri might work for you...if the stuff it's got listed are missing from your diet/body.

OP I came out of hiatus to answer you.

I've been using this for a month. I just finished my first bottle. I took some pictures when I started, so in a few days I'll take some more and see how much progress I've made. I'm not expecting "200% faster hair growth". That's unrealistic. But I'm not consistent with topical growth aids in the summer so I am using this as an internal way to get an edge on growth.
I've taken all manner of supplements to boost my hair growth; MSM, biotin, chlorella, silica, diamataceous earth, etc. Some required that I take a handful of pills every day, or choke down powder, or caused me severe acne. This one works for me because its just one shot glass worth of liquid a day. And most importantly, it DIDN'T break my face out. This is the only way I can take biotin and not break out. For me that's major.

Yes, the amino acids are contained in the proprietary blend. I didn't have to get past the first two ingredients to see that.

I purchased two more months worth of product because it works for me and my lifestyle. I won't seriously judge the hair growth benefits until after the three month period is up.

Seems like it's not a bad product afterall, and Lord knows I hate taking pills..so this is in my future plan for sure. Thanks!

As well I am not even really concerned about the hair growth, its mainly the idea that it's a multivitamin and good enough for my skin as well and it's liquid..that's what interested me. They have the Nzuri Vida as well that I just might get too.

@LaidBak What does the bold mean? How could you tell from looking at the first two ingredients (Vitamin A and Vitamin C) that there were amino acids contained? Did you find a different list from the one below, or did you find one for the propriety blend?

It's marketed as a hair, skin and nails product.

Directions
Take 1 fluid ounce (2 Tbsp. or 30 mL) daily, either directly or mix with juice or water. Shake well. Refrigerate after opening. Thickens when refrigerated.

ETA: I've used the companys signature product for 7 years and I immediately saw changes in my nails and skin along with energy. I have not tried the Nzuri.
