It's sooo haaaaaawwwwtttttttt

What are you doing with your hair today and tomorrow?? It's soooo hot (at 2pm est it was 102 in NYC). I have a big bbq tomorrow and had planned on getting a blowout (i don't have a relaxer) but with all this sweating I'm doing my hair is NOT gonna stay straight. It makes no sense to do it.

My wash and goes are horrid as my hair can't decide whether its curly, wavy or other. My braidouts look horrid as well.

Any style suggestions that are party presentable??

I've been wearing buns the past week but may attempt a wash and go tomorrow for the sake of having wet hair and a little relief from the heat

Keedah I've been wearing buns for past two weeks or so :( (they're boring). I might attempt a wash and bun again tomorrow.

I can't do any type of twist :( (never attempted and don't have the time for trial and error)

LushLox what are you jealous of????

I've been wearing my hair straight with no problem. I use serums and that seems to work. Chi Silk Infusion, Paul Mitchell Silky Straight - I'm good. I roll it at night so it has a lot of body and curl. I wore it this way for vacation - no problem.

My hair is permed but I just discovered kinky curly! I wet it and put a dollop in my hair and it curls up.

Well im in Chi-Town right now and i have been wearing mini twists.. that seems to be working well but im also taking them down today

This week, I've been wearing my hair pulled back in a bun and adorned with a cute hair accessory. Next week, I'll wear a spiral set with a headband.

I get bored wearing the same style week after week, so I've been alternating these 2 styles, which hold up well on hot days.

For the last two nights, I have cowashed at night, moisturized, and slept with a scarf on, then bun it up in the morning! I am about 12 weeks post and so I have some lovely waves going on :yep:.

It's 100 with a feel of 114 here in DC- hot as the devil out there!!

Down in west texas here. My silly behind has been wigging it, but dammit it is hot as.hell!! Next week, I'm getting it braided up!!

We don't have any form of 'heatwave' here at the moment, I'd love some of that. :ohwell:

Mini Twists kept as far away from my neck and face as possible.

Anything else and I'd be tempted to cut it off! All of my sweat originates from my scalp. It's like I'm walking around with a wool hat...:nono:

It's always hot in Memphis this time of year. So wet buns and wash and go puffs. I wet my hair everrryyydayyyyyy!!!!

I've just been bunning...

Maybe a puff or frohawk? That will keep it off your neck mostly and you'll still look cute.

I've been cowashing and wet bunning everyday since this heatwave began. I love having wet hair to cool me down and my hair stays moisturized all day.

A ponytail is a safe hairstyle for a hot day. Don't bother straightening your hair because you'll look like you've been electrocuted at the end of the day LOL

I have been wearing curly styles for a month straight and I miss my straight hair but I know it won't last more than 5 seconds in this heat.

Have fun tomorrow!!!

Oh I can tell you what I did when I had some hair, LOL! I was natural then too. I used serums prior to pressing it, then pulled it back in a bun, or sometimes a little pony tail (it wasn't that long, but long enough). Then I would spray that Mizani Humidity Resistant Spray on it and it would last ALL DAY! And this is in Georgia heat!

Listen you guys have NO idea how hot it is here! Its 97 degrees right NOW! Stifling heat that smacks u in ur face and makes u RUN back inside!! Yesterday it was 105! No sir!!!

I say do a cute braid or twist in the front of ur hair and pull the back into a bun or puff and call it a day!

I put a bunch of JBCO in my hair, twisted the ends and called it a day. If I go out, it will be with a silk scarf and a hat.

I'm so sad!! My SO helped put my hair in curlformers last night to prepare for a wedding we are in today. We travelled all the way to Florida. And now my gorgeous curls look like beach waves lol. So I'm blown. And the wedding hasn't even started :-/

I'm in phoenix...consistently in the high 90s/100s. At first i freaked out because I didn't think I would know how to care for my hair....just moved from the south...my hair loves that humidity. :lick:

Daily co-washing and using a hair mask every 3 days has turned my hair around faster than I can even explain. My curls are poppin, I can do anything I did prior to extreme heat because my hair is just so darn nourished/moisturized. Actually, I don't think i've ever felt this good about my hair. The heat must have expedited my HHJ Aha! moment.

Aside from those conditioners...I use an oil to seal and every once in a while may apply a leave in prior to the oil. you can do it!! just decide that you won't let the weather interrupt your journey. some people were born in that weather and it hasn't stopped them.

HTH
