I have seen many Somalian ladies around Atlanta with hair like this, wavy, silky to their butt. If you watch her first video you will hear she is not AA. Lovely hair though.

I think it is her clothing and personal style that is taking away from her hair, and making it look "unkept" and "witchypoo'. If she were a bombshell with that hair there would be no complaints.

I think at some point she crossed over from just looking like a plain jane with beautiful long hair, to looking like a religious fanatic.

Yes, it would be just curly, however I have never seen type 4 hair that was not kinky as well

that was... actually not that helpful. hahahaha. normally i love the way she breaks things down but i'm a need some real life pictures or su'm. those diagrams are really not so helpful.

anyhoo... i personally think the tags used for dianey55's vids as well as the titles themselves are just to draw in more people. black extra long kinky/curly hair just gets more hits

i don't know her so i might be talking crap but that's why i said upthread that i want to know more of her story... for now that's my opinion tho. cuz if i ordered a kinky-curly weave and i got her hair i'd be like "hold up, what the hell? where's the kink?! process this again!"

I think an easier way to think of it is...lets say white people with a jewfro. Really tight curls and yet its not the same type of curls as people with type 4 hair, even though the curl diameter might be similar. Thats the difference between just 'curly' and 'kinky' hair, imo (not an expert, but thats how i think of it)

@Rei What a helpful link! I've always wondered the difference myself. I have some O type curls (on the LOIS) scale and in my mind that's the very definition of curly but I'm mostly 4a. Now I realize, I have kinky curls, as opposed to a mixture of kinks and curls, if that makes sense. I still don't really know what coils are though. Is there a link to explain that difference?

Yea it actually cleared up a few things for me as well. Coils i would think are very tight curls. I always assume curls to be looser, and coils to be something more like a penspring. So essentially, coils and curls are similar, but different only in diameter. (someone correct me if i'm wrong)

@nzeee I also think you have to factor in the extreme length of her hair. If she had a TWA, it would not appear as wavy without the weight of the hair dragging the kinks/curls down. I think a lot of YTers (for instance Kimmaytube) get people questioning their hair type when it is really long because it does not appear to be the texture they purport...but if you look at the photos from a few years ago, when they typed themselves, it generally looks tighter/more textured.
