New fad:Feather hair extensions?

I saw this on google news and it seems that is a new fad, the pictures are mainly on white women and it's basically one or more long feather attached to a clamp and a bead to your hair like they do with a red streak extension for example.

you can wash them, curl them etc
(not that I want to try them but it seemed interesting)

Ever preteen within a 100 mile radius of my town has these :lachen:

I have even seen some 4 and 5 year old with them. I don't see too many adults with them. I think they are pretty (on some people).

My director has a red one...:ohwell:

The only way I would wear it is if I'm going to the club that's about it.

Isn't it a part of Indian fashion? I saw those feather extensions at a Native American museum a couple weeks back.

I swear lhcf people are reading my mind while i sleep i saw this just yesterday on an episode of pretty little liers (dont ask why i watch that show) anywho i was thinking the next time i go to the mall im going to look for one of thoes feathers i'm thinking the lady with the cart that sales clip ons should have them.

This is an old fad that has been on the decline and the media is resurrecting it, once again. *sigh*

It's hideous, possibly appropriating cultures, and it takes the feathers away from fishers who need it.

I've been looking for a salon in my area that does that. White girls here pick up on that stuff super fast.

Good lord...if this isn't a case of what's old is new again. They were popular in the 80s...along with colored ribbon attached to a barrette.

I think they are supercute. I would wear one, when I wear my hair straight. I have seen women my age (40's) wearing them, in a neutral color. I like it :yep:

I had them and loved them but I suggest just getting the clip ins because I had so much new growth and I couldn't pinch the clasp thing off so I had to cut it. :( It was only a really thin piece of hair and I can't even find it so I'd get them again.

So you used it to decorate your french roll? Do you have another angle?

If anyone with curly hair has worn one, please post.

Back in the day didn't they use to braid color ribon in their hair? I almost braided some in my hair for my hubby's family reunion but decided not to.

Well they were always in there like semi permanent I guess you'd call it but no I'm relaxed so no curly pics but I might have one with straight hair. Hold on lemme check

One of my good friends who is 27 just got one. It looked really cute on her, but I do agree its a little young looking for my personal taste.

My DD and I saw a young woman with this yesterday. I had my DD ask her where she got it.

She told her a salon in NYC called twigs. We will probably go and check out the prices which I am sure will be astronomical.

I have seen a few white girls in my area with the features. I think they are cute but I heard that it is causing problems with the fishermen who use the same feathers.

One of my friends got them they're so cute. Not sure how it would work with my natural hair since I'm trying to stay away from heat
