I don't think there is a cut off age for a headband. Now the shape/size of a particular head... yea there's a cut off lol.

As far as what @Solitude was saying. I get where she is coming from completely. I think people need to take a moment and step back and try not to take what she is saying personal (especially if you are in an older age bracket).

I must say. If you don't think that certain headbands (same goes for certain types of clothes/accessories) aren't appropriate for older women then that's just your opinion. Now ask an early-mid 20 year old or teen the same question.... The answer really depends on who you ask. Now when I become 40/50 yr old I'm pretty sure I'm not going to care and wear whatever I want. It doesn't mean other people won't be thinking what I'm wearing is childish. They probably will. But I won't care. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No need to be rude.

 When did I disagree with that statement? Anyone with half a brain and some general knowledge knows that generally looking an age and being an age are directly proportional. Even this guy :dork: knows that. It's kinda hard to have a discussion when one of us isn't keeping up so I do agree with you on this being a futile effort.

Your last paragraph just proves what I mean. I KNOW others totally got where I was coming from while it clearly flew way over your head. Clearly "age appropriate" is a description we can attach to many things, not just headbands and panties.

I wanna be like Nonie ~ when I grow up. For real(s)

Because ultimately, since this discussion is centered around age, it could easily encorporate a category I fit snuggly in: abuelos... I love my grandkids and I am a young granmumma, and that is a blessing bestowed upon me.

Now, I've had the occasions recently to don my more festive headbands and they encourage me to experiement more with my hair to keep up with the fantabulous headband I choose to wear.:drunk:

Glad the weekend is coming up... I want more:yep:

I honestly feel like until I go to the store and buy something other then a headband for them I'm not gonna say they are too old to wear what the hell they want,..age 30 40 50 60.....its ur head its ur money to buy it ...do ya damn thang...

Solitude Have you not been in Victoria's Secret, JCPenny, Belk, Macy, etc lately?

yep, just stocked during the sale.......when you see some cartoon characters, little daisies, etc. on some Victoria's secret panties, you let me know. Floral print, maybe...little girly flowers, no. The VS panties that do have girlier patterns are cute in very adult shapes - thongs, lacy boy shorts, etc.

Now we're pretending like there is no difference between the underpants they sell at Frederick's and Victoria's Secret and the ones they sell at the little girls department in Wal-Mart and Target? okay...........

LOL @ everybody who "thanked" that post! reaching. I'm not gonna argue about panties...go ahead and wear whichever ones please you.

Thanks, especially @the bolded.

LOL at my intelligence being insulted by folks in this thread over some headbands & panties. Wow....thankfully, I couldn't care less.

Solitude I am not trying to argue especially over panties but they do indeed sell cartoon character underwear in adult sizes. Perhaps because you choose not to wear them you have never paid them any attention but that doesnt mean they do not exist. And flowers really have no age. This probably sounds rude but there is just no age attached to a pair of panties with flowers on them. :ohwell:

Nope, I don't think there is a cut-off. I think certain styles of headbands look better for older women vs. little girls. Me personally (30 something), I prefer skinny headbands, or headbands that are really made to look ornamental (see pic below). But to each his own.

I just bought one from Target today. It's this tortoise shell pattern band with a faux leather band woven through it. It's an addiction. I tried to walk away, but I couldn't fight it. :cry3:

Thanks to this thread, I walked into a store yesterday to buy a cute headband made with feathers (very hot!), then remembered the sentiments here, and walked right out without getting it:lol::ohwell::nono:

Its funny how discussions like this make you more conscious than you were before:perplexed

Wow, really Readyone...

I'd never let myself be influenced like that... (but thats me) lol

Life is too short, like seriously...

I knew someone would say that, lol. I was only kidding. But I saw some really cute headbands and what kept going through my mind was if it was "age appropriate" for me. Because I couldn't decide which one fit me, I walked out. More than likely, I will go back to get the one I really wanted:grin:

Readyone

If I made you feel that way, it was not my intention. Get the ones you want and rock 'em. My boyfriend doesn't like my headbands, but I still wear them, even on a date if I feel like it.

This whole discussion spiraled way off topic.

@Readyone Aint no way in the world. You go back immediately and buy your headband before I spank you! Waysided opinions on a forum should not sway you. Especially if its going on YOUR head and no one elses

Another topic that I shall remember not to start a thread about... :sekret:
I love headbands. I can't find any that look good with my locs right now, but I haven't given up. I'm close to 30 and I wear certain things deemed inappropriate for my age, but I'm not about to stop because MY money is paying for it and I always get compliments.
It is not that serious, :nono: but then again this is LHCF. :look:

:lachen: You ladies are so funny! I wear headbands religiously. I never gave it a second thought about whether it was age appropriate. I wears what I like. This thread just popped in my head when I wanted to get a feather one, thats all. But to be honest, whether I saw this in the thread or not the band being age appropriate would have crossed my mind anyway, lol.

Nevertheless, carry on...

Heck no there's no age limit. Headbands are an accessory that will work with what you match it up with. There are headbands designed for any occasion, even formal ones.

Back when I was relaxed, I swore against them because they did make me look younger, but now that I'm natural, I can't live without them. Especially with this TWA.
