Know what??? if 4a/bs have dry, brittle hair?

Well my mom is 4a and she has the softest hair ever. My 4b in the back is VERY SOFT while the 4a on the sides and front tend to be dry. Guess it all depends. Supplements may help. I'm taking flaxseed oil and hope I see softer 4a hair.

Oh....I've got somewhat brittle/dry right now. I'm due for a relaxer and my hair always acts this way around the second month of "stretching". If any, I would catagorize my 4a/b hair as brittle due to how thin it is.

yall cant see the poll? If not
it was which leave in would you choose
salerm 21
Nexxus headress
keracare
Dudleys PcA
ORS
NTM

She wants to know which leave-in you would use! LOL! There's a poll at the top of this thread.

But I unfortunately could not vote for any of those leave-ins because I haven't tried any of them.

I have 4a/b hair I guess and my hair stays soft with S-curl No Drip Moisturizer and/or Blue Magic Coconut Oil grease.

If you want to prevent dry, brittle, dull hair, keep it moisturized daily or even keep your hair in protective styles like twists or braids styles. Also, avoid heat and overmanipulation.

HTH!

ETA: I have tried 2 of those leave-ins mentioned in the poll! LOL! Salerm21 and NTM Silk Touch leave-in. I tried them back when I was relaxed. Salerm21 sucked on my hair but NTM Silk Touch was great! So I voted for NTM!

Thanks, i thought i did something wrong:lol:
But my hair is not dry or brittle no more, its been good since i mixed keracare and Mane N Tail i just wanted to try something different before i settle down completly and wanted to know what others with the same type of hair have had good results with

Salerm 21 hands down. I've tried many of the others. NTM is a close second, but that Salerm... its much creamier and richer-- great for dry, brittle hair.

dudley's PCA. It's not really a leave in conditioner, though. It is for daily moisture. I actually use Rusk smoother as a leave in.
Thanks. It is like scurl??

No, it is a lotion that you can put on daily. But some find it wetter than other brands. It does have more of a conditioner texture. Sometimes I add a bit of oil to it.

I choose Salerm as well. Although over the past couple of weeks I have found that with Shea butter and Scurl (s curl didnt work for me by itself when I tried it before)...my hair has transformed from dry like straw and unable to comb, to soft hair that has elasticity and I can comb it, even dry! Im amazed at how it is now magically so much easier to use. Im playing around with shea butter concoctions now and bought some ingredients to make the recipes on the hair recipe board. My hair seems to respond better to natural ingredients than anything Ive ever bought in a bottle!

Thank-you :)

ETA: I think I bought this last night. It didn't say "DIRECT" but it was Giovanni and it was their spray leave in. Not the same thing I guess. Same ingredients but no "DIRECT"...

i voted NTM because that was the only one i tried. i leaves my hair very soft. But you may want to seal in the moisture with an oil after you put it in.

GREAT POINT. Thanks to you ladies, I tried NTM and I loved it because it makes my hair feel coated and stronger.
But my hair loooks dull after I use NTM leave-in.
So should you apply oil first then leave-in OR the other way around?

Hi Newslady,

I apply the NTM, then jojoba or tea tree oil to my hair after a CO wash. I even use evoo afterwards on occasions and it works great as well.

I voted for Salerm. I really really like the softness it gives my hair. I did a braidout with it and it barely held the set it was so soft. WGO helps a lot too!

I have been using and loving PCA as a daily moisturizer.

I agree. Are you are talking about the Moisture Retainer? I love it. It leaves my hair so soft. I can only find it in certain salons or hair stores. I think they sell it online too.

Thanks Doll.
When I co/wash Tuesday I'll finish with NTM leave-in followed by my Proclaim oil and see how that works.
