Didn't watch the video yet...

But hopefully this lady gets the help she needs

Sent from my HTC Glacier using HTC Glacier

My sister actually used to do this when she was younger its called Trichotillomania(sp?). It was pretty serious when she was younger and she got help for it, now she is a lot better.

Awww poor thing :(

I use to pull my hair out when I was younger. It felt good. It never hurt because I did it so it didn't hurt. I never went bald or anything (or ate my hair) but it definitely was a bad habit that I nipped in the bud real quick. I never realized how many other people did this too until someone started a thread about it on NP.....

Anyway, haven't finished watching but I hope home girl gets the help she needs....

I have trich too, except I don't eat the follicle and I don't pull hair from the root. I have a nearly irresistible habit of touching my hair in certain spots until the hair breaks off. Thankfully, I have enough hair to cover up the short patches. This is why I hardly ever post pictures of my hair on this forum. Through prayer, I'm getting better though.

i almost threw up when she starting eating the follicle and describing how it tasted

i couldn't watch the video...especially when she pulled the hair out. you can see that it hurts

i have a very tender spot at my crown and i used to pull out hair by the root there because it felt soothing.:look: in actuality, it was making it more tender but something about it felt good. i pulled so much i actually gave myself a bald spot but, thankfully, it wasn't noticeable.

that spot is still tender but i don't get the urge to pull anymore. idk what changed.

I thought I was alone with this! There are two tender spots on the front of my head and I have a urge to pull them ALL the time! Its where my psoriasis flakes up the most and also where my hair is the most coarse. I used to pull out the hairs, but now I just kind of tug on them throughout the day especially to make myself fall asleep... I didnt realize this was a condition. :perplexed:nono:

That's SO disgusting...when they showed the picture of the hair ball I nearly ralphed. I hope she gets the help she needs because that's too sad.

I used to do this, not to excess, and I never "ate' my hair. When I was younger I'd pull out a strand, study it, stare at the white bulb and discard. She probably uses this as a method to self soothe and started experiencing stress and went back to what made her feel better, poor thing.
