Hi have any of you girls experienced a sense of nervousness or the jitters or increased heart rate on MSM? I've noticed this.

Let me know if you have.

that's scary. i would probably stop taking it. what kind do you take?when i was taking MSM capsules from GNC i had the craziest dreams, but now i mix trimedica pure msm powder in my drinks and i don't have any side effects.

I took it for a month or so before I started the nioxin and never noticed any odd side effects.

iri9109 I use the powdered version. I noticed it BIG time when I first started at 1/2 tsp. So I stopped and started taking it combined in a vitamin that only had a few hundred mg's for a few weeks. I felt nothing. Then I started back with the powder with only say 1/4 th tsp. Then worked up from there. So now it's not this HUGE jitter like before just a smaller version. Maybe my body has to get used to it. Idk.

cheryl26 lucky u sis! Hey were you using Nioxin for hair shedding? Mine has been shedding majorly so I'm looking for a vit that reduces that. Someone mentioned Nu Hair vits helps with that so I'm also looking into those.

Na, I'm using it to see if it'll grow fast . My hair has been shedding for years though, Nioxin didn't stop it.

One of the side effects of sulfur is that it can increase energy. Some associate it almost like caffeine. Its probably that side effect that you're experiencing. I would presume, though I don't know, that it might be more pronounced if you stay away from caffeine regularly.

No jitters, sometimes a headache, especially in the a.m. if I take msm powder @ night. And crazy dreams.

I have to take msm in the morning to keep the dreams at bay. I had a headache the first few times, but those have thankfully subsided.

Ronnieaj --Yup I switched to taking it earlier in the day--when I remember. I know eventually my body will adjust, just started back up. But the dreams are funny sometimes!

I just started taking my powder with oj at night and have been sleeping really good but today I had a headache. I'll switch to am.

Ltown-- thats how I was taking mine, with oj, and sometimes water when out of oj. But the headache in the a.m. was like I had a hangover. After this happening 2x, I determined it had to be msm.

I havent noticed it, but my mother tried it and said it made her feel crazy! I think it has the opposite effect on me. Since I've been taking it again I tend to sleep straight through the night which is a rarity for me.

not for me and usually I'm kinda nervous already lol
msm has increased my heart rate when working out
but it's not a bother for me

Golden75, I think I'll reduce to tsp instead of tbsp and try am if I can remember. I work early so it not on the radar to take:lol:. I'm hoping for hair growth and better skin since I have eczema.

Golden75, those dreams are classics! My boyfriend thought I was kidding until I told him about one (a talking shark kidnapped him and was demanding ransom, for example :lachen:).

Ltown, if you take morning vitamins, leave the sulfur next to them. That's what I have to do, else I won't remember at all. And this reminds me that I didn't take mine this morning :ohwell:. Se la vie.

hmm, no jitters for me. I've been taking them for about 7 months now, slowing increasing my way up to 6,000mg. I think I'll stay there. Maybe you should increase your water intake? A lot of ladies say to increase your water by a substantial amount for MSM. HTH!

Hi Chicha - No nervousness here. I've been taking them for little over a month. I started out in April taking 1,000 mg and since May 1, I increased my daily intake to 2,000 mg per day. The only side effect I had was headaches. And it was BAD. So, now I take it with food or right after I eat.

:lol::lol:... :lachen::lachen::lachen: TOO FUNNY, Ronnieaj!!!!!

Ha ha! You ladies have really come up with some weird side affects! I didn't know it would do all of that.

But I do think its likely that caffeine affect that was mentioned. It increases my heart rate. I can feel it. It's not bothersome or painful, I just know its best for your heart to work as less as possible.

Ltown --I do less than that --like maybe 1/4 tsp and i'm all messed up. But when I was diligent, and worked up the tolerance the side effects went away. So as long as I remember to take daily. I should bring it to work, since I'm sipping water all day.

Ronnieaj-- that is funny. Yeah the dreams seem to be of violent/crime ridden nature, but with a comical twist. Sometimes it's worth the msm high:jaws:

I've been taking it for about 2 months now. No headaches, or interesting dreams, or other unpleasant side- effects so far. I take about 2500mg daily. I read up on possible side effects etc and upped water intake, take during the day, make sure I work out properly, etc to try to avoid those things. Oh, I will say I may have experienced a very small amount of detoxing last month. I did have a small acne outbreak along my jawline which I countered with clay masks twice weekly.

Ha ha I see I'm not the only one with sides. That shark picture is to funny! I think I'll try the drink water all day routine. That may help.

I just don't like the increased heart rate.

Ladies i've found a remedy for the jitteryness. Drink a glass and a half of water when I take it! Thats it. Idk for some reason msm needs alot of water when I take it or I feel like a ball of electricity.

Good!! I'm glad that you've found the cure for the jitters with MSM. I hope you get awesome results with it :yep:!
