Pricing by hair type?

Don't like that idea. I don't like some of their other policies either. Nor can I take seriously any business, who has difficulty sounding professional on their website. But maybe thats just the writer in me.

By the way, just read that they also increase rates based on age!

I've seen this somewhere else before...what I want to know is, how does she determine biracial texture? Do you have to bring in a picture of your family?

"Get Twysted will wave the $25 cancellation fee when appointments are cancelled 24/48 hours in advance."

wave huh? ... oh.

Who else gets annoyed when people price things "& up"?

If you can't charge a flat rate for something, then it requires a consultation. And whenever I show up with my type 4 hair, the price for ME is suddenly "and up".

Hell, it doesnt matter what type your hair is, why does the price always jump when I sit in the chair?

And how many times was the word 'lateness' used... someone hand them a thesaurus.

LOOOOOOOL I just cackled...aren't you an uppity little somebody?? :lachen::lachen::lachen:

I'm just sayin...:look:
The only time I see "d'" followed my something, it's usually French - not the abomination of the English language this salon is using.

PS. If I was trying to get those biracial prices, I would take in a pic of Angelina Jolie. She can't prove that's not my mama.

We could rip this site apart...

New clients will soon receive the highest level of the natural hair experience that our devoted clients are use to.

"Use to"? Did anyone proofread this site text?

Right though? So if you're a 4b but you're biracial do you get the biracial price still? Does that even make any sense???

I skimmed the site. I wouldn't go just because of all of the purposefully misspelled words. That irks me for some reason. But, I thought the policies sounded fair. The more time it takes, the price varies - that's not unheard of. And coming in late and changing services last minute is an inconvenience to their business - also not unheard of. I don't see the big deal. But I am going to need them to pay that 5% merchant fee and get a daggone credit card machine.

Consultations are FREE but if you are a no show or cancell your FREE consult, they will be a $25 fee for the consultation. Appointments are not made without a consult.

How are they going to make you pay? And who is "they". LOL

 Yall need to stop. This in no way encourages me to go natural. I want to stay OUT the salon if I'm going to be natural.

I mean really, I'm trying to wrap my head around the biracial pricing. What exactly is a biracial texture? And why should it deserve a discount? So let's continue to perpetuate the good hair/bad hair myths and alienate people by saying their hair isn't good enough to warrant good pricing? That's bad business, it really did offend me, and for that reason alone I wouldn't go to this salon.

I do understand some of the policies, but I wonder if they will deduct $15 if they're more than 15 minutes late for your appointment. And if they only accept cash and therefore do not have a credit/debit card number on file, how do they charge $25 for a no show? If I miss my appointment I just won't go back - how are they going to charge me for it?

On top of that there's nothing worse than trying to be professional when you are not. The misspelled words throughout the site - there's no reason for them. It doesn't take much to have someone proofread the text.

I don't mean to trash someone's site or their business, but this really got on my bad side. I'm done.

Devil's Advocate alert :look: :flyingwit:

So do ya'll think this is just a very tactless way of this business saying that different hair types require different effort? :violin: I mean let's be hoooooonest (Drake voice).

I'm not saying this is fair or "right", but it seems like they want to be compensated for hair types that tend to take more effort to manipulate. I just want your opinions.

*steps back into the shadows* :sekret:

Lol. The biracial pricing thing got on my nerves. She could have just left that part out. Or at least say something like pricing varies for length, texture and desired style. But to straight up say biracial...mmm...not so much. Good hair, good price. Bad hair...hmmm. and last I checked, softer hair textures were more difficilt to braid than people who have some kink and something to hold onto

I will say that at least they are upfront. Salons often charge you more based on your hair. All my life I thought $45 was standard for a wash and flat iron. As soon as I got my hair cut to a bob the price decreased to $35. It isn't set in stone or written, but a lot of salons I've gone to do this.

I think the "biracial" hair may mean hair that has a pattern. They are probably assuming that non-biracial people have fro-like hair, even though that isn't true.

Yeah, ITA with Klearli. I don't necessarily think it's wrong to charge more but the biracial part was uncalled for. I've seen plenty of purebred black women with type 3 hair and plenty of biracial women with type 4zzzzzz, so she just sounds ignorant. You can't assume that biracial means looser or "easier" hair, just like being biracial doesn't guarantee that you're lighter-skinned. And like Elle said, if you're biracial and 4z, do you still get the "biracial" rate?
She needs to get it together.

"Biracial textures"

:hardslap:

That's how I feel about that.

Could you imagine a sistah coming in there with with multiple textures? What do they do then? "Uh...the crown is 100% Knee-Grow, but the nape looks like it is closer to a biracial texture..."

Am I missing something? I just see a consultation section. Where is the pricing by hair type?

First of all, what is "biracial texture"? Last time I checked, not all biracials had the same hair texture. Second of all, why does "biracial textured" hair get a discount? I've heard of price raised based on length, but on texture ? This whole situation reeks of ignorance...

This happened to me too - when I was relaxed I never went to the salon to get it done b/c they told me that they had to charge me more because I have thick hair, so it was going to be over $100...and I could easily do it myself with some $6 relaxer.

However, them distinctly saying biracial texture implies that biracial hair is easier to deal with - which we all know is not true. You can be biracial with 3b or 4b hair. It also doesn't make any sense because they have "kinky, curly, and wavy" listed under biracial...isn't natural hair kinky? So how do they distinguish between a kinky natural and a kinky biracial??? Is the natural hair only referring to "cnapp" hair? Why isn't big chop listed under biracial services? Like chicks with looser curls don't ever have relaxers? The price differences are significant too - $65 vs. $25? That's a huge difference. Actually reading their menu I'm kinda p.o.ed now...

I didn't notice the bolded at first because I just skimmed through the prices. Now I see it and I'm like wth? How are you charging an extra $40 for the same style just because the texture is different?
