Braid Hair from Sally's?

I went to the Grow Afro Hair Long site to find out what kind of hair she used for her braids. Turns out it's 100% Kanekolan Fiber (sp?) Anywho -- I thought this was a brand...but after doing a google search I think it';s a type? I've seen hair at Sally's but never really looked at it, but since I don't live in a very "urban" area it's one of few resources. Would I be able to find this hair there or is this going to turn into an Indiana Jones sequel??

Yes, most Sally's carry Kanekalon braiding hair- there are several different brands. Sensationale (sp), Motown etc. are brands ...they usually come in a 3 paks for $5 or $7 deal or something like that.

Thank You! Do you have a brand recommendation? I've never purchased braid extensions.

If the sally's in your area has Sensationale try that. It doesn't tangle as much. But I think any brand of kanekalon will do for braids-just make sure it is kanekalon fiber.

Also, avoid the cheap packs of anything that just says "synthetic braiding hair" --these are usually cheaper and harsher on your own hair than Kanekalon fiber hair.

This is TOO WEIRD!!!! I just came from Sally's w/ my kankealon hair. I went to the C&G website and decided to do the same thing! Well, the hair brand is SASSY, it works well. I've used it for my self and other clients as well.

Sassy should be ok too -- as long as it's kanekalon fiber.

There's hundred of brands of hair. You can even get braiding hair in Walmart and CVS nowadays .

Thank You How do you finish your braids? Burn the ends or are their other ways. If possible I'd like to be able to redo some of the rows as I get more new growth so I don't want to burn them.

I dip my ends in hot water and then trim them. This way, they don't unravel or tear at your clothing the way burned ends can. You can redo them every now and then, I do it once a month.

Thx! I got a recommendation from someone for a woman that does braids in her house ( I KNOW I KNOW) but it was a trusted recommendation. But when I called her and started asking questions she started trying to boss me on the phone! Why do stylists always try to treat you like that toddler that won't shut up when you try to educate yourself about what they're doing to your head?? I asked for prices and she said "$110" - best price I'd heard so far. Then when I told her how long my hair was she said "Ohhhh....at LEAST $110" Listen here: I'm takin $115 w/ me and she better be satisfied with that!
