Does anyone know of any low odor or unscented hair moisturizers

I prefer using hair lotions instead of hairdress but i hate the fruity or just plain weird fragrance a lot of them have,. Right now i'm using infusium leave in mixed with argan oil but its getting expensive. Here is a list of some moisturizers that i've tried already.

bronner brother's oil moisturizer - liked it but it smelled like a cross between flowers and fish.

motions- sucked , nauseating fruity smell

pink oil lotion - not a bad smell but leaves white residue on my hair no matter how little i use.

optimum (yellow bottle) - liked it , but it broke my face out

Sta so fro hair and scalp spray - loved it , but it broke my face out.

A lot of the natural lines like Karen's Body Beautiful, Qhemet, Oyin Handmade give you the option to pick unscented. Most of the Qhemet stuff I've tried has a light scent but I don't know if you're looking to order online or not. I can't really think of any over the counter low odor moisturizers.

Since most of the moisturizers you listed have mineral oil or petrolatum in them that could be what's breaking your face out and you'd want to stay away from those ingredients when looking for a moisturizer anyway because those ingredients are just sitting on top of your hair preventing moisture from getting through.

Maybe some of the other ladies have suggestions for low odor/unscented moisturizers you can buy over the counter if you're not wanting to buy online.

Thats a hard one...

But I do know of a pleasant smelling moisturizier, by Curls, it's called Cream Brule. Its has a consistency a bit thicker than kinky curly, but moisturizes very nicely. The smell is a very light vanilla scent. Which unfortunately for me, does not last for too long. I bought mine at target. Which is good if you don't feel like ordening online. I hope this helps.

What about making your own? Shea butter doesn't really have a smell so maybe you could whip it with coconut oil. Or if you want a water-based moisturizer you could always just mix water and glycerin (the 2 main ingredients in Sta Sof Fro, and better for your skin)

Alba Botanica Leave-In is unscented (fragrance free!) and a good leave-in. It's commercial, but natural ingredients. I like it better than Giovanni Direct and I went hard for that one.

Giovanni Direct has a scent... It's not strong, but it's there.

BTW, I'm sure you can find Alba Botanica over the counter. I normally buy it online, but the brand is in the drugstores (it may be hidden though... It's not as commercial as Burt's Bees).

judging from your selection i think you should try getting some better quality products before you try looking for unscented products. cheaply made products usually have cloying chemically smells. i have a sensitive so i understand. i like light floral and powdery scents.

i personally could not stand the scent of giovanni. its light but it bothers me after a while.

Alba Botanicals Leave-In Conditioner I use it everyday and it has no scent.

I should have specified that it's one of the "low odor" options. I agree the scent can get annoying. I prefer for a product to either have a noticeable fragrance or have none. Giovanni is somewhere in the middle... in an annoying spot on the spectrum
