It's creative. It reminds me of an unusual cartoon I glimpsed while flipping channels. There was a head with a zipper being unzipped. It was unnerving.

As far as the pic, I think it would have been cool to have more precise (smaller) scrolled or geometric designs dyed different vibrant colors. Heck, if you're going to do it, put some stank on it. Life is way too short to put too much stock into other peoples opinions.

It's definitely not professional,but I like it a whole lot. I could see a teenager rocking it since you can get away with a lot at that age. It is original,and people would look stupid doing mass copies.

I like it from a creative point of view, I think this is great in a portfolio of work showcasing the stylists work. But I would not be too impressed if I had a son that came home with this hairstyle. But each to their own!!
