shrinkage.
i need a moisturizer and i think i will start here since it gets such positive word of mouth on this site. it also just so happens that i live literally right down the street from one of the two locations that sells this product in my entire state :lachen:

do you use this on wet or dry hair?
what is the best thing to do to the hair after it is applied? braid, wash and go, twist, brush?
how often do you use it?
helpful tips? i usually don't put any products in my hair after washing other than gel on the edges. so i'm not too familiar with moisturizing.

it works well on wet or dry hair for me. in general i like using it on wet hair because it is a really good sealant. if i do mini twists on dry hair, i use it on my ends b/c it is moisturizing without making my hair frizzy.

a little goes a LONG way so you don't need to be heavy handed with this product

I just about died and went to heaven when I discovered I live really really close to one of their locations.:heart3:

I've used it successfully on wet hair (after wash/cond) and dry hair (touch up). I really only have to apply it once a week after the wash. When I touch up my puff, I usually just apply the moisturizer to help manipulate the shape of my hair without adding water (which leads to a greater amount of shrinkage).

I don't believe there is a best thing to do to your hair after application. You can pretty much do whatever you want. I do like to apply the Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm, but I don't think it's necessary (although my hair does sometimes look smoother and shinier).

if you use it as a sealant, do you use another product first?

I know the other person actually stated this, but I only use it to seal either the water in my hair or a light misting of my leave-in (Oyin Handmade Juices and Berries).

ugh i just walked over and they had a couple other products - a honeysuckle something or other, a coconut detangler, and an olive balm but no heavy creme. disappointed.

I love their heavy cream! I've been told that it is supposed to be used as a sealant and not a moisturizer....I suppose this is how I use it? What I normally do is wash or cowash my hair, apply my leave in, apply the cream & then use a styler as I twist my hair. It gives good definition by itself, but I find that the twistout will stay defined MUCH longer with a styler on top of it. (The styler I use is ORS twist & loc gel.) The result is a very moisturized, defined twistout. No crunchiness at all! :yep:

do you use this on wet or dry hair? I've used it on both.
what is the best thing to do to the hair after it is applied? It's great for edges, and twists for me.
how often do you use it? It's so heavy so I only use it to set my hair. I don't use it for maintenance.
helpful tips? I use it to seal water or after my leave is applied. It's rich, so you can be light with your application and get great results. Being heavy with it can cause a dull, weighted film. I :drunk::yep: The Olive & Honey Balm. I top with a teeny dab of this balm and my results are just.. :lick:

:love2: <-------- This right hurr.

Do you use this on wet or dry hair? So far only on damp hair.

What is the best thing to do to the hair after it is applied? Not sure what's the best way to use it but I'm in twists now. When I tell you that I actually had hang time.... I was pretty shocked that my twists had movement! Normally when dried they're shrunken but moisturized and stiff. I still had shrinkage but they mooooooooved. :) I'd love to see how it does on a wng.

How often do you use it? I did my hair this weekend and my hair is still moisturized. I clarified and DC'ed, then used the QB products sans leave-in. I can see using this 1x-3x a week, depending on how often I end up co-washing.

Helpful tips? Be very light handed with the AOHC because a little goes a very long way. If you're heavy handed you will be greasy. I mixed a finger tip of AOHC and HHB and applied per damp (not sopping wet) section, then divided the sections for twisting. I added an extra teeny dollop on the ends and *sigh* Fantastic. :yep:

I did my entire head (fine but thick hair) AND made sure I coated my strands. I didn't even make a DENT in the products. This stuff will last a you a while unless you're super heavy handed with it. Less is definitely more for me. :yep:
