I only saw one or two ladies who use it and are relaxed. Everyone else is natural...I would like to see how you all use it and how.thx.

I purchased the deep moisture masque and the moisture retention shampoo at Target. The shampoo is awsome because it gets the hair clean without stripping the hair shaft. The hair still was smooth after rinsing and really prepares the hair for the next step. Plus, its sulfate free. The deep moisture masque was just so so. It provides moisture but no slip, which I think is because it has no cones. It requires me to grab a leave-in to bring the slipness back in order to detangle properly. I give the shampoo a 10 and the deep moisture masque a 6.

Thanks for the response. I purchased both those items and the restorative conditioner. I will use the shampoo today. I figured it would be good for me since it has all natural ingredients and I just suffered major breakage.

i just used to shea moisture retention shampoo yesterday :love: it was awesome, it left my hair moist and detangled, now as for the deep treatment mask :nono: i did not like it, i couldnt detangle my hair no slip whatsoever.

I haven't seen it in my area.

Toy did you check your local target? or you can order it online:grin:

I've tried the Deep Moisture masque. It was...ai'ight. My hair felt moisturized but it had absolutely no slip. It also has a cake batter smell which wasn't a problem for me but may be an issue for those who have issues with strong scents. I also thought that you don't get a lot for the price ($10+tax). I used it up and didn't repurchase...

The Deep Moisture Masque was just okay. My hair felt moisturized but heck it was already moisturized so that wasn't saying much. It didn't have much slip. I like my Silk Elements Olive Oil or Keracare Humecto better.

The Smoothing Milk is pretty good as a moisturizer though

I'm texlaxed. I used the restorative mask on myself and my son who is natural.

It made our hair feel like straw. It was awful.

I felt like I poured straight alcohol on his hair and mine.

I would never use it again. I wouldn't even mix it with other stuff. Which is what I usually do when I don't like something.

It's rare that my hair nor my sons hair likes a product. Usually what works on me doesn't work on him and vice versa.

Now I'm scared to try anythig else.

I bought some products from this line sometime last year.
I hated the Masque, my hair felt dry and tangled afterwards. :nono: I tried to like the Restorative Conditioner, but it didn't work out for me. I tried it in different ways too, as a wash out conditioner and as a leave-in. My hair just wasn't feeling it and it felt dry. Those items went right back to Target.

I really like the Shea Butter shampoo from the line. It smells good and my hair feels nice when I use it. I also tried the Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Styling Milk. I stopped using it though because of the smell and because my hair felt kinda dry after a few uses throughout the week, maybe because of the protein. It smells nice but the smell lingers too much. The bees seemed to follow me when I used it during the summer. Plus I got tired of people talking to me about the dang smell.

Woman at store: "Hmmm, it smells like coconut or pina colada."
Me: "Oh, it's my hair moisturizer."

This happened a few more times with different people when I put this in my hair.

Ut oh I purchased this off of someone in the exchange thread. Haven't used it yet; we will see.

BUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!

i know someone must have tried it at least once? even if you don't use it as a staple did you try it? how was it?

I have the Moisture Retention shampoo. It does great on my relaxed hair and my dd's natural hair. It leaves my hair really soft like I conditioned it but I don't feel like it really cleans my hair. Now I use it after using a clarifying shampoo so I know my hair is clean. It also has a super strong cologne smell to me that lingers. We've used like half the bottle so I filled it with water to bring the smell down. It's super thick so I still get great results. I don't think I'll buy again just because of the strong smell.

I bought the deep moisture mask when Target had it on sale and my hair hated it!!!!! It was dry and tangly and even worse I used it after a protein treatment. I even tried to mix with a few other moisturizing dcs and whatever is in the **** still made my hair feel icky. Even worse my hair was soft before the moisturizing dc (my hair loves protein go figure) so I know it was the shea moisture.

I love Shea Moisture! The only products that didnt work for me were the deep conditioners (masque, curl smoothie). I could use them as moisturizers, but not for dc. My favorite line is the yucca-baboa thickening line. Top products: shampoo, thickening mist, and growth lotion.

I love, love, love the Restorative Elixir.

I have the Purification Masque and the Anti Breakage DC'er (but haven't tried those yet)

Finally purchased the shampoo. I like it a lot. Not as much slip as my CON Argan Oil but it's a good one.

I use the moisture retention shampoo and conditioner as well. It works well for me. I also use my Afroveda butters and oils to moisturize and seal. My hair is thriving with it. In my case, I could use these products and still be good. I get good slip from the conditioner and I use the elixer when I bun. You're not supposed to use it with heat, only after heat styles. Deep in my stretch, I use the curl and shine shampoo. I am in love with EQ soy oil conditioner so I no longer use the mask. So far, my relaxed journey is going well.:yep:

Exactly what she said! I don't use them anymore because my hair decided it was over shea moisture for the moment. I may go back.

Im transitioning, but 70% of my hair is still relaxed and I love Shea Moisture..it was love at first wash lol. The Curl and Shine shampoo is just ok...I like slip so I like CON Argan Oil shampoo better. I LOVE the Curl and Style Milk and the Curl Enhancing Smoothie as moisturizers...they have saved my hair's life and my sanity when it comes to softening up my hair.

I only tried the Deep Treatment Mask on a small part of my hair and didnt like that it has no slip and was a little hard to distribute, but Ive read that lots of ladies love it to use on twistouts as a styler.

Im about to refill my Curl Mlk, and pick up the curl and shine moisture mist and the curling souffle. The Curl Enhancing Smoothie lasts a long time bc a little goes a long way. I hope these products continue to work as well for me this winter! Ive never been more pleased with a line as I am with this one. Im curious about the thickening mist,etc....may pick it up too for my fine nape and edges.
