I think what Cheeziness is trying to say, is that you should have said all of what you just said, in your original post. You did not, so she thinks you were baiting the rest of us up to start the conversation, instead of you just laying all of your cards out on the table and saying you felt like you were cheated.

This is exactly what I was saying. You never explained your purpose of the thread. And reading through the first few posts preceding my first post, APPEARED you were attempting to start something. You never mentioned your order or anything in the original post. You led with a sideways insult to the lady's hair and then asked what we thought of her. That's all I saw before my first post - which formed my opinion of this thread. Misunderstanding...probably. But, again, you could have started this thread with a more specific op and I wouldn't have said a word.

But that's the thing. I still don't know where you're coming from. I feel like you're just trying to pick at every little thing. I wanted to know if I was the only one that felt like I had been scammed, that's the reason I didn't state much of my opinion to begin with. I wanted to know what other customers had to say about her disappearance (assuming that people who follow her regularly would chime in). I didn't want to set the tone too much because I didn't want the conversation to be biased because of my personal experience. Got it?
This is the last time I'm responding to you btw because I feel that your response to my post actually had nothing to do with what I had to say. If you had a problem with my post in general you should have skipped it and moved on in the beginning. It's pretty easy to do.

ETA: I wish this thread would be closed by a moderator already. A few select people completely turned it into something that it wasn't suppose to be. Plus now that we all know the deal with Nikole's health it's pretty pointless to continue the conversation going on.

Op, dont feel bad, you can start a thread whichever way you want to, and dont feel bad about wanting your money or your merchandise either.

Best wishes to Ms.Maven, but I dont understand the sentiment that you are supposed to blindly trust what a stranger says, or that you are supposed to put the personal issues of a so-called business before your own money.
I dont care if its $2 or $2000, it was yours and you have every right to expect it back.

I have ordered items from ebay I've had to return, and the retailer was able to make a refund via paypal within MINUTES. Months is simply unacceptable regardless of the personal circumstances. If you have time to tweet and delete comments, you have time to refund on PayPal.

I reserve judgement on any of it, really, but I understand your and others position.

Op i hope you receive your money back as well. I had something that dragged on for months after i payed someone and didn't receive my order. It was really aggrevating.

The underlined is case in point. Your experience isn't going to create bias if you would have said that from jump. We can respond according to our experience. You don't get it and that's ok. But, just like you can feel it's okay to try and bait people into talking about their experiences with her, I can respond to this thread. That's all I have.

How would you feel if someone made a thread about you asking folks what do you think about so and so? Straight up, some folks would be ready to e-fight. It makes me think back to high school, a girl asking me "Do you know so and so? Do you like her? Cause I don't like her," and you saying no you dont like this person and they go right back and start some mess.

I mean really? It's just nice to watch how you put things out there, cause the chickens always come home to roost.

I havent even read all through this thread. But MopTopMaven was one of my favorite blogs. I actually liked her better than curlynikki gasp!

I pray that she feels better if she is truly sick. She seemed like such a sweet person, always had great and helpful posts. Cool creative personality. I would check her blog everyday but stopped because I didnt see any updates in months. I hope she feels better soon!

If you felt like you were being scammed, you should have just posted in the vendor forum all the details of the transaction and asked if anyone had anything happen similiar to your experience. I'm sure someone would have filled you in about her illness over there and you could have taken appropriate actions at that point to get your money back.

Posting in the Hair Care Tips & Product Discussion forum about how you "liked" her hair and what people's current opinion on MopTop was, when it boils down to you thought you were being scammed and wanted others to chime in, was messy.

I think that MTM's situations shows that as a business woman you should always have a back-up person who knows their way around you business and can fill in if there is an emergency

If I was in MTMs situation, no one would be getting their money back for a while because my mom is (IMO) computer illiterate. She depends on her secretaries for a lot at work. I would never have thought to make sure she could navigate paypal etc. You need to have emergency systems in place that do not all stop and end with you.

As I said before I hope she gets better. I too read that sometimes this disease needs liver transplants so I am praying against that!!

I read the original post and kept it moving because it read/felt a little messy. I believe in going to the source if I can, and if I can't, I go to my lending institution (bank, FCU, or CC company) to state my issues with the company and see if I can get help with coming to a resolution.

I've followed her blog for a while and I've truly enjoyed it. Even if MTM wasn't ill, there's still a proper way to go about everything.... and I don't think this was it.
