She's been on my mind a lot lately. I check out her blog daily, but she hasn't posted anything in a min. I saw a tweet that she sent out and I do believe that she is ill right now. LHCF sisters and brothers, let's keep her in our thoughts and prayers :)

ETA: I didn't see the update initially.....oh dear. I'm glad that her mother gave us the update.

she is so beautiful...every time i browse her blog i say so to myself. i hope she recovers soon
 
Regardless of her intentions...I am glad OP started this thread. Had she not, I would have never discovered this amazing blog written by such a gorgeous and talented woman.

Off to go subscribe...
 
She does ROCK :yay: I too love her blog and YT videos. And with her being a member (atleast former) here, I hope she gets well FAST :yep:
 
I pray she has a speedy recovery! I love Moptop's hair and style! Her blog was by far my favorite natural hair site. Since her hair type is similar to mine I enjoyed reading her detailed product reviews.

On a side note, I've ordered over $150 worth of her jewelry line and did not have any issues, just excellent customer service.
 
I don't blame you for being upset precious. If it were me with an issue like this I would have tore up the entire interwebs looking for the person with my money.

Let's not jump down op's throat or start stanning. There was FINALLY an update after a thread on another board blew up a couple of days ago. Some people had even received tracking numbers back in Dec. yet still haven't received any jewelery and nobody would answer their emails or let them know what was going on. Anybody would be upset in a situation like that no matter how nice the blogger seems to be.


With that said, I LOVE her blog :drunk: and I hope she get's well very soon!!

if you read her new post you can see she asks those who are waiting on their money to initiat the process through dispute on paypal and paypal will give it back. She's been in and out of the hospital and can't finish new orders.
 
I mean if you're worrying about your money and stuff I see that but this?? wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.
 
Also know this:
Paypal gives 45 days for a dispute (I did that for my grandma last month and it takes several weeks before they give your money back as they ask for the person to respond first...the seller. If the seller doesn't you get your money back).

Know this, she's sick and asks that you ask for your money back so there's no reason to wait.

IF you have missed that deadline you can still contact your merchant and get your money back (if you have a visa, mastercard,etc) contact them and tell them the issue asap (including the notice on the site of the seller) so that you can get your money back.

The later you wait the more they'll wonder WHY and the harder it will be to get your money back. I used to work for a merchant services account so I am familiar with the procedures.

All those cards have protection with them (but also specific guidelines for deadlines to cover you). You don't necessarily have to say it was fraud. Just that the person who makes them got sick with wilson's and this is highly unusual. And as the items were hand made you thought they took longer so you waited, and now you find that message and you want your money back.

I would not wait until the summer (I think you mentioned that op or else someone else did earlier in the thread) because you won't get your money back unless she initiates it then. And who knows? She may be lying up in the hospital and it's the last thing she's able to physically do (log on computer go through dispute, etc)...when you could've done it within the deadlines of paypal (or your merchant account [visa,mastercard, americanexpress, etc] which has a little longer of a deadline to report, but not much).

Just a warning so you don't get in a jam. Don't be "nice" (by that I mean wait around because you don't want to ruffle feathers because later yours will be ruffled when your merchant account tells you you had X amount of days to file and didn't). You really need to initiate this process now This is unfortunate, as she's sick but you don't want to lose your money in the process. You can call and ask for your money back (From your merchant account) or online from paypal without causing any trouble for her, but just letting them know she's sick. I understand you want to be understanding but even she knows it's up in the air if she can even organize everything and give money back. So that's your cue to make sure it happens.

Added: Forgot to add that even debit cards are covered with protection as long as they have that logo: visa, mastercard, etc. So don't assume just because you have a debit card and used it to pay, that you are in a jam. YOu can call the number on the back and initiate the process (to recover your money).

I actually never heard of this blog before, nor did I read any threads about any trouble concerning her business/customer service. However, when I clicked on the link to see the blog, I immediately recognized her as former member GabbanaGirl. I remember that hair for sure! You just don't forget heads of hair that look like that! :love: I always wondered what happened to her.

I'm so sorry to hear about this devestating illness and I hope she recovers soon.
 
I absolutely love her blog, and have been following since day one. She seems like such a sweet person, praying that she gets back to completely restored health soon!

She mentioned that she didn't know she was sick, it was after she started the thread that coincidentally there was a statement made about MopTopMaven on her blog. I don't think the OP would have made this thread had she viewed the statement first.

It was the "baited" general question that looked odd. Instead of just saying what the issue was in the first place. People didn't know how to answer her question.

After it was said MTM was sick, she still commented about her money and transaction. That was the part that was not cool.
 
i LOVE her and i just read her post this morning. had no idea she was sick and I hope she recovers quickly. that's crazy

and the OP meant no harm. if i had ordered something from her, i would've been upset too. now she knows Maven is sick
 
Some people had negative comments on her blog even after knowing about her situation.

Whoever has thought for a minute that the value of earrings becomes more important than a person's life, in case you are reading (I am not referring to the OP as there may have been a misunderstanding in that case): I have nothing to say to you.
 
I love her blog. Hope she gets well soon. Also, isn't she a member here? So is this thread against the rules in some way because of that fact?
 
I hope MopTop Maven gets well soon. However, my bosses' daughter has Wilson's and it required a liver transplant for her to get better. I certainly hope it doesn't go this far for her.
 
Your Cheeziness I'm not sure what YOUR intentions are. But I will state for everyone else that I DID NOT KNOW she was sick. I read one person's comment and responded. Why would I care for some earrings if someone's health is on the line??????? That doesn't even make sense. I made the thread to see if anyone else felt like they were being scammed (this was before she made an update). I received a tracking number late December that said my order was already 'out'. Two weeks go by and haven't received my items. I email her and receive an email back from her mother. Her mother tells me that the items went out already and that I should wait. Another two weeks go by and have not received them. Her mother never stated that MopTop was sick. She only commented on that my earrings had been shipped out. I had NO IDEA the woman was sick! The End! Period. Stop coming in this thread trying to start things. I clearly just wanted to know if anyone else had been bamboozled. And again it was only BEFORE I found out that she was sick. People were saying that she was sick on her blog but it was only hearsay, no one would say how they knew except one person who said she had "tweeted" about being sick and was feeling better (in which case I don't have a twitter and don't know much about it anyway).

With all that being said, I love me some Nikole, and would never want to shame her name when it is not due. Please understand that I had been waiting for a response about her disappearance since the end of December.

ETA: Also I want to say that it was in bad taste not to have actually read the update when someone stated that she had just made one. I should have immediately read the update

Yeah I can understand the anger before finding out about her illness but after finding out just chill and file a claim...

I think what Cheeziness is trying to say, is that you should have said all of what you just said, in your original post. You did not, so she thinks you were baiting the rest of us up to start the conversation, instead of you just laying all of your cards out on the table and saying you felt like you were cheated.
