My Hair Looks Wiggy (Pics) - What Can I Do?

OP, your hair is full and really pretty! I would have liked to see the front as well, but from what I can see, I can understand why some might think it looks kinda "wiggy". It has sort of a perfect, uniform look to it, you know?

On a personal note, I don't blame you at all for not wanting people to assume your hair is wig! I've spent enough time wearing weaves and wigs, now that I'm actually caring for my own hair and it's growing, the last thing I'd want is for people to assume it's fake! I understand that some people would take it as a compliment, but I wouldn't! I'd find it to be a slap in the face actually.

My best suggestion is to try some different styles. Messy buns are usually cute, and don't look wiggy. Banana clips are good too I think.

HTH!

I have gotten the wiggy look at different points my whole life. My grandmother tells me all the time I look like I have "doll hair". I think it just means u have nice, thick, shiny, well manicured hair and people aren't used to seeing black people's hair like that. Your hair is pretty to me.

I know a few of you wanted to see pics of the front to see if it looked wiggy. But I didn't take any from the front that day. The next day I tried to flatten my roots a little more and didn't make the curls as big and I actually liked it a lot better. My updated avatar pic shows the more flattened look.

So here is a pic of the front from yesterday and I don't think it looks wiggy here so it really doesn't help showing this pic but here it is anyway. This is how I always wear my normal swoop bang though.

To each hisorher own but I think the goal in life should be to have things so big, bombastic, whatever that most people think it has to be fake. This should apply to everything - not just hair.

OP,
If you truly want hair that looks less wiggy, then stop caring for it. And if you have that kinda hair that just stays full and luscious with barely any care at all then put it through it's paces. Break all the rules. Relax and color on the same day. Then bake in some hard core curls with the old fashioned irons. Use heat tools regularly and crank up the temp dial freely without fear of heat damage. Your hair will start to show wear and tear and look "normal" and "less wiggy" sooner than later.

Ok, I see your point LOL. That's funny when you mention all things in life. I love my "girls/twins" because they're big and would I think the same way if people assumed they were fake too? No way LOL. I love my hair :-)

So glad you understand!! And yeah, I do the messy buns during the week and look forward to weekends to wear it out. Gonna experiment with the banana clip next. Thanks!

MY outlook on life as well

There was a woman on the show girlfriends. She came on late in the show. Her hair always seemed so thick and full that I thought it looked wig like (but in a very good way).

Completely of topic. Was this really Keesha Sharps hair?

This pic was taken last night. This is how I wear my hair when people say it looks wiggy.
