Msm out of the capsules: Used on hair??

I have a question..I feel real "blonde" for asking this. I have MSM tablets at home and I have yet to use them. Anyway..I decided to open them up to see what it looked like inside..it was a powdery. So here is my question..can I use this powder in my oil?. I can't find it the one in a tub..so can I? Damn I feel crazy for asking that..but I don't want any problems.

i have tons of msm powder but they wouldn't mix with oils or liquids (optimsm... the one i have is suppose to be less fillers)
