Won't bore you with a long story but I just passed the 17-month mark of being relaxer-free, and I can see a difference in the length of my twists from when I first chopped to now!

The first two were mini-twists done on dry hair in August 2010:

Here they are after I left the shower steam shrink them up:

I'm just pressed that my shrunken twists now are longer than my stretched twists from August.

I was getting ready to say "boosted" but I know that most people not from the area don't know what that means. I figured most people knew what "pressed" meant by now. Lol!

Yes! Since I have low density in most of my hair, the slightly shrunken look is much fuller! Plus I wanted my ends to coil so the twists would last so I needed a bit of moisture to coax them back into curls.

Those things are fingertip magnets! Lol.
I'm not sure but I did a bootleg length check today by wrapping a belt at my armpits and pulled a twist down. It looks like I have maybe .25" to go but I won't know for sure until I straighten in April. That one twist just might be a SuperTwist. :superman:
