:lol:I was just visiting my BSS and as usual, I'm always browsing. Anyway they have a huge Chi display in the front of the store and I just so happen to notice that it was a relaxer kit. I asked the owner of the store how long have they had it and he said about two weeks. He also said that it is paraben and sulfate free.

I tried to do a search to see if someone had posted this already and I'm late but I just couldn't find it.

The sticker price was $17.98
(keep in mind that this BSS is for professionals only and prices are discounted). I'm thinking that it would cost much more for average retail.:ohwell:

I'm natural and have no thoughts of wanting to relax. I just seen something new to me and thought I'd share with the boards. I'm curious to know what some of you think about the product.

Any takers? Anyone going to try? I know that there are Chi lovers on this board

Here's a small pic (sorry, the camera on my phone is some crap)

I love my Mizani and Chi cost more than what I pay for Mizani. I will check in to see how you all liked it.

I love hearing about new products.

Oh OP, was it a lye or no-lye relaxer? I only do lye (or no-base, no mix) relaxers.

That looks like a no-lye relaxer but I want to be sure.

Whoa I thought Mizani was $50 for a tub or some outrageous price?

I'm not sure, but I'll try to go past the store tomorrow or before the week is out to provide information.

As a matter of fact.. I will try to get as much info as possible.

I don't get the tubs anymore because I don't relax my hair as often as I used to. I've never paid $50 for the tub though. I get a discount at the professional bss.

According to amazon.com there is a no-base formula. Now someone try it and report back. I just relaxed Sunday so I'm not due for another 4 - 6 months.

Hmmm this is interesting. Very interesting. Im natural also and have no intentions of relaxing .. but I think its clever that Chi have realised alot of people with AA hair love their products and have created a relaxer system...

Wonder how well it works, if its anything like there other products sure it will be great!

I saw this in my local BSS. They had the relaxer, a whole new line of products, AND a blowdryer to match. I want the blowdryer, but since Folica doesn't carry it (Chi Brillance Blowdryer), I wasn't sure if it was authentic.

eta: I do love Chi products and would readily try this formula if it's no-lye.

Good looking out RockCreak! I searched on Amazon:

I found a single tub and says sodium hydroxide so I think theres a lye one too. Its only $13.98. They also have a neutralizing shampoo, neutralizing conditioner, protein reconstructor and moisture shine treatment. This has peaked my interest, hopefully OP will come back with ingredient info.

I've been researching this like crazy, looking for reviews on it. I found one on BHM, which also directed to this blog: Relaxed>>>LongWay2Grow: Updates: I'm Still Alive and Kicking where the blogger said she tried this relaxer.

**I relaxed my hair about 2 weeks ago with CHI Deep Brilliance Relaxer in Normal. I love it. My hair 2 weeks later is still so shiny and easy to manage. For some reason my hair feels so much fuller and stronger. I couldn't tell if it was the relaxer process, my progress and/or the use of CHI Infra Treatment. Well, whatever it is I am loving how full it feels and looks.

The CHI Deep Brilliance relaxer system is specifically designed for our hair type and is said to allow those who use this relaxer to also color their hair at some point within the same process.

The balance neutralizing poo has color-alert, but it wasn't as thick as my ORS Creamy Aloe so I added it to the process. I burned my scalp, but it's been such a long time since I self-relaxed that I probably should've praticed before I applied the relaxer. All in all, I am happy with the results, but I think I will have a stylist apply it next time. All products I use to relax: CHI Deep Brilliance Scalp Protective Cream, CHI Deep Brilliance Relaxer in Normal, CHI Deep Brilliance Balance Neutralizing Shampoo, ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo, DUO Tex Protein Conditioner(mid-process protein) and SE Cholesterol Conditioner. LeaveIns: AGTK, Chi Silk Infusion and FX Flat Iron Spray which I absolutely love. It doesn't make my hair crispy at all. The best heat-protectant that I've tried and I have tried many.

I'm tempted to try it, but I'm supposed to be stretching & I'm nervous about being the guinea-pig. Plus, I use no-lye and I can't find any information on the no-lye version.

Wow! i didn't know that they had a relaxer! I am switiching to Mizani butter blends but will love to hear any reviews on this relaxer!

I wonder if this will become my new relaxer. I want to relax my hair soon and this will be my first time doing it myself. Going to look for more reviews.

I saw it too just the other day. I just bought the big tub of Elasta QP soy oyl so i have a while before I try it. :( Isn't no base the one with lye?

I wonder if this is in fact the "new & improved" Farouk Deep Brilliance relaxer which used to be so popular (the whole line actually) and they just slapped CHI on it since the CHI brand is doing so well.

Farouk Deep Brilliance line just up and disappeared off the shelves one day.

I think it's the same. The Farouk "deep brillance" flat iron had good reviews on amazon, but now it's no longer available. The new Chi "Deep Brillance" flat iron is available.

Maybe they had to put it under the CHI brand because people didn't realize that Farouk manufactures CHI, FHI, Biosilk, etc.

I wouldn't use the relaxer based on this review alone -

My main reason - she didn't use the relaxer as instructed! What's the point of stating/reviewing the product if there were all these additions to it.

Chi is a decent brand, but I'm not interested in the relaxer...good luck ladies to those who do, and let us know how it goes.
