How long is to long to leave

henna in your hair? I woke up at about 4:00am and put my henna in and then around 8:00 I went back to sleep and I didn't wash my henna out until about 1:00pm. Was that to long?

I don't think there is a limit on how long you should put henna in your hair. I remember when I started using henna again, I would do it on sunday after church because I knew I wouldn't be leaving the house for much and leave it in the whole day while I did chores. Your hair will come out a lot more reddish but other than that it doesn't seem to cause a problem. Unless of course henna causes your hair to dry out, which I found it did when I was completely natural.

The most I could stand to leave in the henna was 18hrs! My hair was fine-the color was fabulous though.

I have left henna on for 12 hours with no problem. Just wash it out with a moisturizing conditioner.

A lot of people leave it on for 12 hours. Just do a DC afterwards for an hour or two.

I did a 3 hour DC and I used Oyin Honey Hemp as a leave in with some aloe vera juice.

OMG, this must be random henna day...I woke up at 3 am this morning to henna my hair and went back to sleep around 6 am..I washed it out around 6 pm. I'm going to sleep in my dc tonight
