Is it just me, or does New Growth make your hair look uneven....

Shorter, and uneven, yes ma'am.

I stretched texturizing for a year and was in a near fit of rage and my lack of progress until I was done and saw it wet. Then I was like 'oh look, it's really long!' I can't wait until I get all these bubble hairs cut out so I can straighten it occasionally.

yes it does, i was getting upset to when i had a lot of new growth because it didnt look like it was growing and i wanted to trim it up, but when my hair was wet i could see my progress and now that i just got a touch up im very happy

YES!!!! This is sooo true. I thought my hair was hella uneven...I usually rollerset and I'm like, what is going on??? But, today, I straightened a few sections with the flat iron and realized that my hair is fine, it's just super puffy at the roots from my new growth.

Yes, that is why I believe most people wait until they are freshly relaxed before getting a trim.

Co-sign. Once I let a stylist trim my hair prior to getting it relaxed and when I finally relaxed a few months later, it was so uneven and I had to get a cut to fix it. :nono:

I think that it's possible to get natural hair from straight to bone straight with a flat iron and heat protectant for a more blunt trim. But since I wear my hair in it's natural state a majority of the time and it grows in layers, I don't have to straighten it to trim it. I pay more attention to the overall health of my hair and not necessarily blunt ends. I hope that makes sense.

Yes it does! I learnt that when I used to go to the salon. My hair looked a HAM from the 5 months of NG, ends all uneven an scraggly looking and I thought that my stylist would have to cut off a lot because of thinning ends. But in the end it was just that the NG was thick and shrunken an made the rest of the hair look uneven. By the time I was all done, I had thick even hair all round and then just got my routine trim.
