Because I am so very happy. My hair has never been this long! I was hoping for APL this year and I think I am there!

Ok, I wont bore you with the emotional stuff, but I am really happy and I cant wait for this time next year, heck I cant wait for March 2011 when I celebrate 3yrs of being natural. I am hoping for fuller APL by March and BSL by end of 2011....wow feel tingyly even saying that lol, never thought I would reach anything over shoulder length.

Ok......Here are the pics:

Maxiglide results comparison: Dec 09 Vs Dec 2010: (Maxiglide really straightens my hair, I always have to find a way to volumize it a little more because I like it to be fuller)

Regimen:

I do my hair once a week, I normally wear braid out and I blowdry maybe about once or twice a month on average, but since my hair is getting longer, I find that I blowdry less.
I wear buns a lot and I usually have my hair up in some type of updo.

  1. Prepoo with oil or mild protein conditioner (mix of natural oils or Aubrey organics GPB)
  2. Shampoo (Curls cleaning cream)
  3. Deep Condition under the dryer (1hr) or just with plastic cup (2hrs)- (My staple DC is Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle rose, but I also use Shescentit Banana brulee, Hairveda Sitrinillah mask)
  4. Detangle with Suave tropical coconut
  5. Braid up my wet hair using Kinky Curly Knot today or Kimmaytube Leave-in. Let the hair dry and rock a braid out
  6. For moisturizer, my staples are Qhemet Heavy cream or Burdock root butter cream
  7. I seal with Coconut oil, Cocasta Shikakai oil, Vatika frosting or Oyin burnt sugar.
  8. If I need to rebraid for next day hair, I spritz my hair with water and add a lil KCKT and in the morning my braid out is fresh.
  9. If I blowdry I use my regular leave-in and use Sabino misture block.
Thanks for looking ladies and thanks for another great year of hair growing.

YAY! And very impressive length and progress.
You know I love your creative styles..

Thanks for sharing your regimen..

Few questions though...as far as heat protectants,
What do you use when you blow dry and what do you put on your hair when flat ironing?

Thanks Mook. I use Sabino moisture block, sometimes I also put a little Fantasia Heat protectant.

I'm so proud of you!! Not only did you make your goal in terms of length, but you stayed natural while doing it

I can't wait to see where you'll be next year.

Great progress and beautiful hair, its inspiring to keep going on my natural hair journey because we have similar hair.

Wow, pretty hair and great progress! Congrats!

Your ends look great now...how did you improve them? Did you trim (how much?), or do you believe it was something in your regimen?

That shrinkage ain't no joke!! Congrats on your progress!
