What's your fav butter or homemade butter mixture? Are you using oils and butters together or alternate etc...TIA

I just returned to using butters after not using them for almost two years. I used to be the shea butter queen, so what was I thinking to let go of my precious butters? My mix right now, which I just made yesterday, is shea butter, olive oil, and coconut oil with essential oils and some indian powders.

I like Texas Naturals coffee bean butter: coffee bean, palm oil, soybean and cottonseed. It's a creamy butter like Jane carter's or Ojon.

I also love (not a butter) Qhemet Biologics Olive Honey Hydrating balm.

I like Camden Grey butters. My favorites are olive, sunflower, and almond. Avocado for my hair, but I love it on my skin.

I Just Purchased Horsetail Butter and Green Tea Butter from Wholesalesupplies Plus.

Good Stuff. I was also looking into the Acai Butter.

I used to use butters all the time and I never had dryness or ssks I'm out now I may have to buy some for winter.
Does mixing the Indian powders help? Does it go bad faster w the powders in it? Tia

Yes! I always use butters during the winter, right now I'm using (sweet) almond butter.

I love butters! Right now I'm using Koils by Nature's Nourishing hair and body butter (shea, kokum, mango, avocado, olive, and illipe butters, etc) and Peaceloveandsunshine's Coconut confidence (shea butter, coconut oil).

I'm still using good ol unrefined (East African) Shea Butter. The East African Shea Butter is more of an emoillient and is softer than West African shea Butter.

I mixed the Indian powders with the coconut oil to make oils first, then added these oils to the shea butter and olive oil. This is the first time I have added Indian powders to a mix, so I will have to wait in order to comment on their effect. I do not, however, believe the powders will make the batch go bad faster; in fact, I have never had an homemade butter go bad on me, even though I usually make 20 to 30 ounce batches. Maybe the reason is that I add a lot of essential oils.

Just order some east and west African Shea butter Combo mix
I'll review it after I use it for a while.
I found it on amazon.com From slice of nature.

I use Koils By Nature Nourishing Hair and Body butter. I also use Belle Butters Premium whipped shea butter, unyevu, mint chocolate, and shea mango butter.

I also purchase my butters from Camden. I love my avocado and coffee butters. I bought a jar of each one last year and I still have some left. I use them on my hair, on my face as a moisturizer, as a lip gloss, and once in a while I'll put a little in my DC. I rarely buy whipped butters online.

I saw this thread just in time as I whipped me up a butter this morning! It has shea butter, kokum butter, coconut oil, hibiscus powder, castor oil, grapeseed oil, rosemary and lavender essential oils. I added a few drops of gardenia fragrance oil to make it extra yummy.

I'm still using my blend of unrefined shea butter and jojoba oil. I love that stuff. I don't use this on my straightened hair though (too heavy for that).

Avocado Butter,HV Green tea Butter,Njoi Butter & Christine Gant Hair Butter..

Happy Hair Growing!

I use shea butter....I heard since shea is a nut, you can actually eat it.
So goes to say....If you can't eat it, don't put it on your body.

I used avocado butter on dd since birth and her hair stays moisturized and soft. She's two but Her hair is the equiv of bra strap (I guess). I used to use it myself when I pressed to keep my scalp from flaking but I just haven't bought enough for the both of us lately.
