Rules are rules....if anything, he should edit the image of the OP from his video - then he could spew a whole bunch of nonsense. However, he is in fact ignorant to the world of afro textured natural hair care.

If you want to get technical, it should be flagged on general purpose because he is singling out Black women and perpetuating racial bigotry, spreading lies about how it is a FACT that the hair they were born with will never be as good as any other races. It equates to racial hatred or intolerance, which is also against the You Tube rules.

Youtube exists for people to express themselves. If they took down every video that offended somebody, then it wouldn't exits. Youtube is owned by Google and Google is NOT for censorship. I understand people being offended by him saying that other races have "better" hair - clearly that could be considered offensive, but it's also one person's opinion. He was basing it on the extremes black women go to to change our hair. Even naturals go to extremes as far as buying lots and lots of products and spending a fortune on weaves for "protective styling," and braids/twists.

Look at how many threads there on LHCF about how difficult it is to work with 4B hair. No, there is no "better" hair type or texture, but he further qualified the statement by saying our hair is "rougher," which is true.

I posted my opinion in order to add a different perspective to the discussion. What are you adding with popcorn besides childishness?

In that video that you posted, he says that you ndid the same thing to him and showed proof. He showed, and stated that you posted his pics and put his pics on your Blog. So you both are doing the same thing.....

Thank you for pointing that out.

In addition, I'll add that in my opinion OP posting this on her blog, twitter, and here on LHCF is only inciting more drama.

i see that someone made a relaxed head angry...:lachen:

Chick, please. Check my siggy. Hair wise, I don't have ish to be mad about. I'm gonna whip my hair at that comment and KIM.

and so were her "summaries"

and so was the post above mine that quoted her post and put the popcorn eating smileys

No ma'am, my summaries were MY take on what was said in the videos, basically word-for-word, but not every word. How was that possibly out of line?

Ooooh, I guess I was supposed to come in here and jump on the "ignorant black man" bandwagon. I think FOR MYSELF and come to my own conclusions.

Oh h*ll no! This idiot just left me a comment too!

I guess he got upset that I commented on his video and decided to get smart with me...

My comment:
"I hope you never have daughters. This video is horrible."

His comment: "just looked at your channel. how come you look like a raptor with a golden retriever weave on?"

My comment: "I honestly laughed at this comment bc I know it is nowhere near being true."

Martina, what did you expect his response to be? Who are you to tell someone that they shouldn't have daughters. You know, I'm one of your subscribers as well....loved your review of the Sedu, but I really do have to wonder why, as a member of the Youtube community, would you leave someone a comment like that?

Would you want someone to say you and your hubby shouldn't have kids based on a video about hair? Come on, now.

I actually didn't post this video on my blog, YT, or Twitter. I only posted it on LHCF because I know this community is more closed off. The only thing it's really going to do is give him views - he can have them. Shrug. People post ignorant videos on here all the time, so I don't see why you would think this is any different. This doesn't help me in any way. And furthermore, YT doesn't automatically remove videos due to a certain number of flags like some other sites. They actually investigate.

You are JUST LIKE HIM! No, you are WORSE than him!

You got so pi$$ed that you had to come here for bully-back-up, all because you didn't like what he said and he hurt your feelings!

Then you come on here, after you got your back-up, acting tough.

You weren't acting tough with him though....but that's usually how it is with scary people.

That man didn't do anything wrong, and you got all of these folks to harass him, all because you couldn't handle WHAT YOU STARTED.:perplexed

I absolutely disagree but okay!!!! :)

I have no problem with rebuttal...I let him comment all up and down my blog, YouTube, and Twitter for an entire week...but there comes a point where you don't need to sit around and battle some YT crazy all day, and when I blocked him he started flipping...some people get really pissed when you reject them, even if it's not sexually. Meh.

I am so sick of that weak arse line of "You are not natural because you use shampoo and conditioner and such and such." Remember that talk show video that was posted a month ago?

Why oh why is it so hard for people to understand that when we say "Natural Hair" in reference to black people we mean. Hair texture that has NOT been PERMANENTLY ALTERED with a CHEMICAL process.

Meaning that on saturday when I shampoo and condition then deep condition my hair the texture will still be the same before I did that. It also means if I decide to flat iron my hair then stick my head underneth the shower it will revert back to it's original pattern (That of course if there isn't any heat damage :giggle:)

You know you're dealing with a really dumb person when this argument comes out. It's like they're up against the wall so they start reaching for any little technicality: everything has chemicals in so if you put ANYTHING in your hair you're not natural. WTH, you gonna sit there and tell me that shampoo, conditioner, & shea butter are on the same level as relaxer when it comes to how it effects your hair. Really now. When someone tries to pull that bs I automatically dismiss them as someone whose thoughts I'm still interested in and move right the hell on.

Tough??? Who is acting tough? I just disagree with your sentiment. However, you are welcome to it. The only thing I did was post the YT guidelines in case someone wanted to question whether he was actually in violation, which he is...I mean, I don't really see what there is to argue about? And back up? What back up? You won't see me on his channel posting a dang thing - I blocked him, and when you block people you can't comment on their stuff either. You won't see me trying to come for him or posting a response video...

1. Youtube - you DID post it on your youtube by making a response video.
2. Blog - he posted screenshots of where you DID post his video on your blog. No, I did not go to your blog to verify.
3. LHCF - you DID post it here, cause I'm typing in the thread about it right now.
4. Twitter - IDK, no idea what's going on on your Twitter, but I doubt you posted it here and made a response video without tweeting about it.

It seems like you don't want to take responsibility for adding to the drama. His original response was not even directed at you!

I have no idea what you mean by I think it's different when you are the one who started a thread about it. Why did you feel the need to post it here? I mean, to be honest, you can start a thread about whatever you want but just know that not everyone will agree with you.

@solitude

i saw each and every one of those videos when they were actually new. not after the fact when my chemically altered swangin' locks were perhaps not getting enough attention and when a man who would get down on his hands and knees and praise me for my good fake 1b texture is called out for his foolishness.

if you choose to read that other races have "better" hair than we do in some sort of positive light, that's your opinion. i can see you agree from your choice of hair care.

do i have a problem with relaxers? no. helped my sister texlax earlier. but why are you the only person out of control (and defending a person ignorant of all hair care and insists on trying to insult black women who are natural by calling them "nappy headed" and "muppets) in a thread about "angry naturals" and you are relaxed? mmhmm. the lord works in mysterious ways, and everything is a coincidence.

and just like i wouldn't want a person who thinks that only light skinned people are pretty to have children, i wouldn't want a person who thinks that anything but straight hair is "nappy" (negative connotation) and like a "muppet".

why you mad?

I'm talking about his most recent video (from yesterday), so no...I didn't post that anywhere else. I already admitted that my initial response to him was snarky, but I think you look a little crazy when the exchange goes something like this:

  • Initial Vid
  • Response
  • Banter
  • Response to Response
  • *Crickets*
  • Comments to Responder
  • *Blocked*
  • Another Response
  • Emails to Responders Viewers

But like, I said you absolutely don't have to agree. Have a good one!

Ok, so if you didn't need backup, why did you have to post this and have people flag him FOR NOTHING. If you were okay after you blocked him, why did you have to send your homies out to go after him?

Evidently, your feelings were hurt.

What does flagging him even do? Nothing. Like I said, it's not the frequency of the flags.

And nah, no tea no shade, I just don't want my picture on his creepy video. But, his views about black women (not just me) and their hair are quite amusing.

@solitude

why you mad?

mad at..................................?:look:

Who looks crazy, you or him? Or both of you?

Maybe he didn't want his pic on your creepy videos, blog, tweets. Oh yeah, maybe he didn't want them posted on websites that he didn't authorize.

What does flagging him even do? Nothing. Like I said, it's not the frequency of the flags.

He is a Tool. I am glad you pushed back at his stupidity maybe when he rubs the 2 brain cells he has together to find a response he will hemorrhage and die.
Natural selection.

BBBAAABBBYYY I am ready to whip this cock-eyed don't-know-whether-he-lookn-at-the-wall-or-the-camera summabytch ***! He can't even put a damn sentence together! wtf?!

Elle I loved your video response. His videos on the the other hand was as ignorant as they come.

Thank you. I really wasn't trying to be a jerk but I guess some people can't take any kind of dissent. Dah well!

This thread can certainly be locked/go to heaven...it's really not that serious, y'all...

Regardless of who started the beef, "FACT" is dude is ignorant as hell for his comments and low-blows regarding Black women and our "type" of hair, and also for the muppet baby comments towards Elle Pixie. His mindset is what's detrimental to us as a culture. Other races of women aren't singled out nearly as much when it comes to our hair, looks, net worth, marital status, STD status, etc. So Sesame Street making a video positively about our hair is like a breath of fresh air. Sure, they could have included other races in it if they wanted to, but other races aren't being oppressed in such a way. It's easy to say that them singling us out with the muppet video just reinforces the fact that something is wrong with our hair, but hell people (like him) do that anyway in a negative way. So if sesame street wants to single us out in a positive way, then so be it.

His PM to me:
hi
honey I`m in style.. now..and If you think that a black woman who has nappy hair is chic.. then it is you who are wearing the emperor`s new clothes.Any hair stylist will tell you that combing the hair massages the scap and promotes hair growth..I`m black.. my hair is naturally straight , if it is cut short.. :look: :lachen: i don`t have to even comb it.. but i do.. to promote stimulation of the follicles.. we come from a hair care family..But Black nappy hair is nothing but an insult to Black women and reminiscent of slavery . :nono:Blacks for the first time in thousands of years..didn`t comb their hair.. you have never seen one Black Sculpture or stele in African Egypt,Ghana, Ethiopia ,or any ancient African nation ,"with nappy hair.. The only time you have seen nappy hair is during Slavery.. when Blacks were at their least.. :nono:Don` t try to con me because you let someone con you into thinking that nappy hair was something to be admired.. :perplexedother races made this condition for you and other races laugh at you when they see you falling for their tricks..Do you know that their are actually people in a board room sitting making up fads..Nappy hair ain`t natural :spinning:hair .,Natural hair needs to be conditioned and managed..I will give you one good example.. take black males who have ,what we call "cucka bugs" very short tightly curled hair.. which doesn`t seem to grow an inch..But in six months to a year.. this same head of hiar ,when conditioned and, First twisted, then rubber banded,,then plaited, then braided ,becomes dreads or long braids..this is in men.. ..Do you think this grade of hair would have gorwn so -long ,so fast.. just by treating it as nappy natural :ohwell: :lachen: with a little spritzing and pulling..no way..

@Solitude
I made my comment because I don't think he will in any way be a positive influence on a daughter(or son) with the mentality he has. The things he said were just plain foolish, and if he teaches these things to his future daughter then she will have issues. Telling a child that other people have better hair and etc is not good for them. My dad is very loving and I can't imagine him making me feel bad or telling me that other races have "better hair" and that straight hair is progression. Girls look to their fathers for love, and their self esteem is often based on how their father treats them. A man with his views on "black hair" would probably teach his daughter to think badly of herself. That is why I made my comment.
