Washed my hair after 2 week press

As some of you might remember I got my hair pressed for the first time two weeks ago and now that I've washed it out I can see a noticeable difference in how my hair was before to now.

It still curls up but I think the pattern is a little looser and the texture softer in some places it wasn't too soft before! And ugh there are even some straight pieces in the mix. What I'm wondering is if doing a series of protein treatments be enough to give my hair back its curl in some places? I'm hoping it is at least.

I'm also thinking because it was straight for two weeks, the longest in a long time, that its taking some time to get used to being curly again in some places....and I had done Henna the week before and my hair softer than usual then too.

Just sayin all this to rant a little and to ask what some of you guys have done to nurse it back to normal or if its just me being paranoid lol

I think u are stuck with the "new" texture. I flat ironed my hair @ 410F or so and while most of my hair reverted back, I still have straight or wavy hair in my ocean of naps :-S

That was over two weeks ago and I have been using protein treatments and leave-ins to strengthen my hair, but I don't think the straight parts will ever get back "kinky".

I learned my lesson---nothing over 350F and I HAVE to use a heat protectant.

It may or may not be permanent...try the protein treatments and see how that works for you.

This is why I use the lowest heat possible. I hope everything works out for you, Kaggra!

Yup...I'd also like to add that your hair may be in "shock" by the heat, ive experienced it after pressing, but a few washes, and protein DC's later my hair snapped back up...

Thanks ladies.

And yes Amoreofcurls I think so too. I'm just going to take a wait and see approach for now and not stress too much over it. But lessened learned, nothing higher than 350 when I try it on my own lol

Thanks for all the help ladies :)

Instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd update this one by posting pics of what my hair looks like now.

This is just a big chunky twist out that I've retwisted every night since I washed my press out Sunday.
It's usually this big but you can tell on the ends that there are some straight pieces and it's a little softer/less prone to frizz. I'm still gonna do that protein treatment this Sunday and hope the totally straight pieces will revert.
