Woooooow. That was inspiring. I'm thinking about getting me some. Has anybody on here tried Cassia Obovata?

Yes, I've seen her videos before and she has lovely hair indeed. I've never tried Cassia but had to comment on her gorgeous hair.

Re: My my my... Check out this lovely head of hair **cassia treatment on natural 4a/

I used Cassia this weekend. Maybe it was the OJ I put in (per the instructions) that made me hate it so much. I have 200g left and doubt I will use them. My hair was so happy before touching Cassia Obovota. It took forever to rinse out and my hair felt SO dry. I dc'd for a few hours after words and...nothing. Maybe I need a stronger DC afterwards...who knows.

I used Suave Tropical Coconut, hot 6 oil, oj and water in my mix. IF I use it again, it will be coconut/wheat germ oil, conditioner and water.

Oh nooo I'm sorry it didn't turn out well for you, Blksndrlla :nono: Maybe next time you could try adding oil and conditioner to the cassia.. sort of like a henna gloss but with cassia. I would do a nice deep penetrating DC afterwards, also. Something that says "leave on for 5 to 20 minutes" in the instructions.

Thanks for this op.

Re: My my my... Check out this lovely head of hair **cassia treatment on natural 4a/

I have used cassia consistently and it's great.

I've never used anything in my cassia gloss other than oils (brahmi, amla, evoo, evco, etc), water and conditioner. There's no need for anything else, actually. I try to leave it in overnight for best results. The rinsing is the grueling part. The graininess doesn't want to flee!

But, I will say, my hair always feels heavier and stronger. The smell is a little, well - intoxicating - like fresh herbs...My dh ran in my bathroom to wonder what was up?! He thought i'd gone left, lol. It kinda makes my head swirl -but i'm scent-sensitive. I ordered online - can't remember the vendor, couldn't find it locally.

Your hair is lovely! I like its springiness. I will try cassia as an alternative to henna. and thanks for the tip w/ the oils & condish.

Isn't her hair just gorgeous?! :) I was researching cassia and ran across her vid. Definitely glad I found her as my hair is very similar. I can have a pretty good idea how my hair will respond.

I just started using cassia. I ordered online during ayunaturalbeauty.com's sale last month! I've used it once since then. And you're right; it does take some rinsing to get it out. But it's worth it!

I'm natural and c-napp.

Re: My my my... Check out this lovely head of hair **cassia treatment on natural 4a/

I got the same results as henna with cassia but the henna lasts longer and gives color as well. Cassia is a great alternative if you don't want the red color of henna.

without the red color ?? is it really true true true truuuue ?
because I luv my dark hair color and I don't want red tones in it ..

Ladies that use cassia, does it loosen your curl pattern?

I think that cassia is less likely to loosen the curl pattern than henna b/c it doesn't coat the hair enough to weigh it down. When I did cassia (twice), I didn't notice any loosening.

Re: My my my... Check out this lovely head of hair **cassia treatment on natural 4a/

Cassia will leave a color if you have blond hair, so be careful if your hair is bleached.

I have used cassia before mixed with conditioner and oils, and I love the results of it :yep:. I don't do it as often as I'd like because I'm too lazy to rinse that much , but my hair definitely feels heavier, and the curls are a smidgen looser, but it reverts back pretty quickly.
