I am interested in trying this, I have read good views and 2 bad views which were #1 the cost & #2 Dryness overtime. But I read that it doesn't contain any Lyes,No Sodium,No Calcium,No Lithium etc. I am Texturized and want to stay that way, but would love to use this, Is this still considered a Relaxer even though it does not contain Lyes?

Yes, it's still a relaxer. It uses sodium guanadine(sp?). I use Phyto Index One. My hair does get dry, but I think it's just from being relaxed in general. I deep condition and moisturize daily to combat dryness.

It really is pricey and that's the biggest negative. Last year, I purchased it half price (3 boxes) during the Christmas sale. But, it's extremely gentle and odorless and I really like it.

Okay!! Thank you so much, I just looked up Gaunidine Carbonate, I think I am gonna try it for my next touch up, I think I am gonna use Phyto1 since I am texturized and don't want straight hair, Thank you so much for your review, when I use it I will let you know how it works for me.

I use Phyto II with some other goodies mixed in. I absolutely love it!

And since I have incorporated ceramides into my routine, I have absolutely no dryness and my hair is naturally dry, coarse and wiry.

Thank You so much, I was looking for you Taz because someone in another thread told me that you use it and your hair is beautiful, I agree, can you tell me how often you touch up? and would Phyto1 work good for my Texturized hair? I am looking forward to trying this relaxer, Also you add other goodies mixed in the Relaxer, Like What? Oils,Conditioners? I am sorry for all these questions!! LOL!

I used phyto II in July for the first time. I love it so far! My hair has been in a bun and always moisturized so I have not experienced any dryness yet. Not sure when I wear down and not as much product. Good luck with yours!

Thank You Shelew! I am just too excited, I am gonna order it friday, but won't touch up until a few months Later!! (hopefully)

I used to use it, but my hair was becoming drier and drier. But at first, my hair was BEAUTIFUL !

I finally stopped using it, went to a new stylist and she said that I really needed to be using lye relaxers all along...which is why I've been on this board FOREVER and have been having sooo many setbacks. I'm natural now. But, HTH, another perspective.

I used Phyto for the last two years. It will not hurt your hair but I got to a point were my length seem to stay the same. I used Phyto one because two was to strong but Phyto one would only texlax. I went back to Mizani and tried there Butter Blends and now I am hooked.

I touch up my hair every 7-8 weeks, although I am currently attempting (again) a 1 year stretch.

I mix 1 cap full of SAA, Walnut Oil and 1 vial of Biolage Hydratherapie or Fortetherapie into my relaxer.

What length did your hair stay at? If you were only relaxing your new growth, why do you think your hair wasn't retaining length?

I think you should slowly stretch out the time between your relaxers. Going form 8 weeks to 52 is a big jump. I used to relax every 6-8 weeks, then I went to 12, then 16, and now 6 months. This time I am going for a year. I know you used to be natural, so maybe it'll be easy for you....this is just a suggestion.

OP, I don't add anything to my relaxer. I just use what came in the kit and follow with moisturizing DC like Aveda Dry Remedy

Thank You Ladies for the Replies, Dryness was the only bad thing I heard that happens overtime, But I am still gonna try it to see how it goes, and if it don't work, I will go back to my Mizani Butter Blends which I also Love!!!!
