Where is the search button?

LOL - You are definitely not crazy and do no apologize. I looked for it last night and thought it was my PC. I wish they had kept one on the main board though and not just in the menu.

Agreed, the top search bar pulled up a whole bunch of results that had nothing to do with what I wanted. Is the google bar coming back because the one upstairs...just ain't doing it for me.

Funny that you guys feel that way about the LHCF Search button. I hated the Google one coz instead searching just within the forum it'd bring up a lot of other outside stuff I didn't care for.

If you set the criteria for searching right in the one above, it works perfectly, except when it's "out of order", which hasn't been the case in recent months.

The top bar works better....if you do an "advanced search" or "search thread titles only," you get much more accurate results that that google button. Somebody started thread about this in the help section.

I shall give it a try ladies but for me the google one was effortless. I was doing a search on hairspray on the top bar yesterday...yeah I got like 4 actual threads about hairspray and DOZENS on everything but. Hell I even got a thread on Shima.

Near the top of this page, it says "Where is the search button?" in bold writing. It is on the line underneath that. HTH!

Y'all, the one at the top is the OLD one. It's been around since I joined in 2003. The Google one was fairly new. I think it was on a trial basis. It didn't measure up so was kicked to the curb.

Oh wow. I was using the google one but now I see the actual old one at the top is better. Its more advanced like the one over at Black hair media.
I think i like this one. Just click on advance ladies to narrow your search.

edit: I dont like it anymore! its not finding what im looking for.

When I used to use the Google search bar, "shampoo bars" would come up on the first page.

I'm actually quite pleased with the shampoo bar that I have now. I was just seeing how the current search feature works & so far, I'm not happy.

I clicked Advance search, chose "titles only" from the drop down, and only searched within the hair discussion forum (last part may not be necessary).

You can search LHCF (or any website) using google now. To do:

At google, type

site:longhaircareforum.com your search term

For example:

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=site...=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=f8b95c6f3b5732e5

Maybe you should try doing the search. Here's what my Search window looked like before I hit Enter and I got 18 threads focused only on Shampoo Bars in both the Hair Forum and the Natural Living forum.

I didn't put in a lot of work. All I did is in the attachment I just showed you, then all those threads appear with their titles so you can zoom in on the one that interests you.

It only was a headache coz I had to do it one by one for you, but if you enter the criteria I used, you'll get the results yourself.

Use "shampoo bars" as the search word
Select SEARCH TITLES ONLY

Then hold down the control key and select the forums to be searched HAIR and NATURAL LIVING

Then hit enter, and your results display as clearly as day.

I have to skip over many irrelevant threads like the sulphate free thread, knotty boy dreadhead???
...and I get only 9 results on one page with two of them being time-wasters while I had 18 on one page with LHCF Search all very relevant to shampoo bars.
