I thought I'd researched this BKT thing to death. I've read most of the threads here up to about two months ago. Now I'm foncused :perplexed. I always thought the BKT process required 3-4 of no touching before washing and moving forward. One of my girlfriends in Cali got a Brazilian Blowout, that doesn't seem to follow that pattern. She said she didn't need the mulit-day "no touch" Is this just a variation of the process or are there different products/processes for this Brazilian blowout? HELP!

Everything you need to know about BKT is found on this thread:

Yes, it is long, but if you're doing this you should be well informed.

You seem to be confused about the "no wash" period after the flat ironing. What happens is that different brands have different requirements from "wash immediately after" or after an hour, 24 h, or 3-4 days later. It depends on the brand.

If you have more BKT questions, search within the BKT thread or post a question there. Good luck!

I tried to go through that thread but it was too long and confusing. I just asked my stylist who happens to be a member of this thread, Im attempting to transition and she said she found it easier with the BKT. So I got my first one yesterday, it can be washed out 4-7 days later. I cant wash my hair, put any products on it, put in a pony tail or nothing, I can wrap it at night but I have to wear it straight down any other time. My hair is super straight with atleast 2 months of new growth. So far I like it but we will see how it goes 2 months from now. Good Luck!

the bkt didn't work for me and i don't know why. i used the softliss brand and i followed the directions to a "T". other ppl used it and had great results. i'm so upset because i wasted my money. My hair didn't look any different to me at all so all that heat was for nothing.

That's my worst fear. Hundreds of dollars and an entire day and not get decent results would just drive me bonkers!!

^^ Softliss is too light weight for 4 a / b virgin hair. QOD Gold or Global 2% / 4% tends to get better results. It will also take multiple applications to get the curl to relax more.
