You did well! Great progress.

You mentioned that your hair has never been this long. What was your longest length?

LOVE IT!!! and you have low arm pits like me........:) Your APL is right next door to BSB.....but you will be MBL by the end of this year....Congrats...

Thanks ladies for all the positive feedback. This definitely makes me work harder to reach my goals, especially up against girls with such beautiful hair as each of you. I’m so honored to be amongst all of you. Finding LHCF has been a godsend for me, and I have you ladies to thank for all of my progress, SO THANK YOU!!!!

Now, on to the good stuff. What is my regime?

I basically try to keep it simple. Here’s what I do:

Daily

Because I exercise on a daily basis, I co-wash daily using VO5 Moisture Milk. I use to put the conditioner in my hair and sleep in it, but it started to cause buildup on my scalp and made my scalp itch horribly. So now, I rinse my hair, apply the conditioner, put the plastic cap over my hair, and continue with my shower. Then, I rinse the conditioner out with cool water, pat my hair dry, and apply my leave-in, which right now, is a mixture of Nouvea Moisturizing Finishing Lotion, Skala Ceramide Leave-in, and Eulecence MB Conditioner and then seal with a mixture of Argan Oil and EVOO. Put my hair in one loose plait in the back and clip with a cute little baby barrett so that it doesn’t come undone and put on my satin cap. The next day, my hair is moisturized again and put in a bun. I apply JBCO around my edges morning and night to keep them going strong.

Weekly

Friday night, I apply a mixture of WGO, EVOO, Coconut Oil, and Avocado Oil to my hair and put my cap on and sleep in it. This is my pre-treatment. On Saturday, I wash my hair with Trader’s Joe Nourish Spa Shampoo and condition for 45 minutes with Mizani Moisturefuse (love this stuff!!). Every other week, I will incorporate a protein (in my case Aveda DR) before my deep conditioner for about 15 minutes or Aphogee 2-Minute for about 5 minutes just to keep that balance. Then apply my leave-ins and seal. Again, I put my hair in a plait and put my cap on.

Monthly

Henna Treatment (mixture of Henna, Amla, Shakaki, V05 Moisture Milk Conditioner, Honey, Castor Oil, EVOO)

Miscellaneous

I do the Aphogee 2-Step Protein treatment every 8 weeks and also follow up with this after a relaxer treatment. A week before my relaxer treatment, I use Nexxus Emergencee to strengthen the hair. I relax every 4 months or so. This and bunning has helped a lot with retention.

That’s basically it. It seems like a lot but it’s really not. To answer the question of what’s the longest my hair has ever been, well that’s barely grazing SL and that’s the truth. That’s why I don’t believe it when someone says genetics has anything to do with growing hair. It may some, but not enough to prevent you from reaching your goals. I think it’s all in how you care for your hair and until I found LHCF, I didn’t do that and my hair broke faster than it grew. KNOWLEDGE IS A POWERFUL THING. Happy growing ladies!! Oh, regarding heat, I only use heat once a year, in December, so stay tuned for my big reveal.

I love these type of results, so that women of color to see that if you want long hair you can certainly attain it. This is excellent progress!

Thanks again for the positive feedback. Once I get a couple of inches past the bottom of my sports bra, I’ll claim MBL. Barring any setbacks, I should be there by December. Then, I’ll relax, straighten, style and post update pictures.
