I'm still transitioning. I stopped counting after a year post because my slow growing hair annoyed me. But I'm guessing I'm around 13 months post right now.

I want to transitions, but I fear that I will get another relaxer again lol...

Do what I do to take the pressure off. Just say that you are stretching your relaxer indefinately. Don't call it transitioning. Then, the day you clip off the remainder of your relaxed ends, " Opps, guess I'm natural now ... I didn't even have to transition." :lachen: That was silly ... I know!

I'm still transitioning, but I'm 8 months post. I'm not gonna even thick about BC'ing until a year. 6 inches is collarbone to me. That's should be enough to put my hair into a puff.

I'm 9 months post and I plan to transition until my natural hair is bsl

I hear you. I'd be happy with APL

this is actually a good idea :yep:

I'm 7 months post but i've made it this far before.. so the challenge will be for me to continue and make it happen

Your hair is already pretty textured. Is there a huge difference between your unprocessed hair and the texlaxed hair?

I have caved in around that time too. I went to church one Sunday ... left with straight pretty bangs and smooth edges. Once I was at church, the humidity made half of my bangs look like an afro. It was not pretty :nono: Then one time I left for ballet class and had pretty smooth edges and a sleek bun ... :nono:

I wore a headbands to class this summer= I didn't cave it. No Bangs= no half afro :afro:

I also kept a box of relaxer in my drawer. I knew I could relax anytime I wanted. Whenever I was tempted, I would read the ingredients, think about my scalp, feel the difference in thickness and health of my new growth and relaxed ends ... then I would lose interest in the relaxer. I think that I threw the relaxer out in late May. For the time being, I don't think about it anymore. So, I'm stretching until 2015 or 2020 or 2025 ... whatever

OPPS ... just re-read title. I'm not 4a/4b ... I'm 3c and 4a, so I count a little.

Haha! I have 2 boxes of relaxers too plus the neutralizer.

my reasons for going relaxer free are 1. the last relaxer broke off my hair, i'm sure of it and 2. I'm getting older and will need to die my hair at some point. I don't want to use dye and relaxer.

but i am not liking this extra poofyness and I LOVE big hair, but this is extra.

Im 15 months post and I plan to continue until 20 months. The longer my natrual hair gets go the eaiser it gets to detangle so Im happy about that!

Oops, me too!

It's been 21 months and some change. I'm about 85% natural because my crown and sides still have a little relaxed ends on them. I will never just chop them off, but will gradually lose them as I trim. And I only trim when needed. It is noticeably growing well and healthy and thick.

I second the notion that this is a great idea. Knowing myself as soon as I know I can't do something (i.e. relax) I wanna do it more. Great idea!

11 and a half and planning to go for 24.. I dont like layers the bc will give me... I want my crown to be at least shoulder length lol..I dont really care about my nape.

I'm at about 15 months now...May will make 2 yrs wow....time flies when your braided up lol....I'm going to chop my leave out for a sew in soon but I don't plan on chopping those relaxed ends till im comfortable....so time line ....is I dunno could be November could be next year could be 2012!!

I will be transitioning 15 months as of August 21st. I plan on cutting off the rest of my relaxed ends in December or at 19 months. I will probably bun until March and go to the salon for a dusting or perhaps an actual style.

I'm still transitioning and I'm 54 weeks post.

I always wear my hair in a braided bun and sometimes spice it up using Kimmaytube's advice. :yep: I trimmed my hair from full MBL to full APL but it quickly grew back to grazing BSL. :drunk:

I'm 8.5 months post. I planned to BC at a year, but I don't have as much hair as I wanted to have. I would like for my natural hair to be at least SL before I trim the relaxed ends off. Lord knows I am SICK of them though. I'm also pregnant now, so that gives me an excuse not to relax for the next 7 months. I'll see how much hair I have then. Good luck!
