I understand this poo chelates and clarifies. I live in a hard water area and used this poo for the first time last week and loved the results. :lick:

Anyone (especially relaxed heads b/c I'm relaxed) using this poo weekly without it being too harsh or stripping the hair? If not, how often do you use?

I use it as a neutralizing shampoo after relaxing. I also clarify with it every couple of weeks or so. I find it to be very good without stripping my hair or making it extra dry.

Cool! I didn't know it neutralizes. That's good to know for my relaxed friends.

Thanks for the info!

To the OP: I am natural and I use it on as needed basis. I live in a hard water area. Also the shampoo is pretty harsh. Atleast for me. So I couldn't use it more than once every three weeks.

When relaxed, my hair hated this shampoo but I just starte using it again recently and my hair seems to love it and I'm natural now.

i never thought it was anything to write home about...
but i still have tons of it! i use to use it alot after swimming

Mine are so old... they are changing colors, I now add aloe vera juice (surprised?) << god sent:lachen:, and oil to mine

I'm getting away from commercial cleansers, but until i use them up (say 2012?) i will be using mixed with my own concoctions
IT DOES NOT STRIP THO'.. EVEN IF USED NAKED:blush:

I have this shampoo and I use it whenever I feel like it, it lathers alot and feels nice, I am somewhere between relaxed and natural....:wallbash:

Really like this shampoo. It lathers well (I like bubbles/lather) and does not feel oily or greasy.

Unlike that Pantene Relaxed & Natural which, for me, is just a greasy mess. Never again!

what I love about this shampoo is that even though it is supposed to chelate it is also creamy and seems not to strip too much. I think it is the aloe that helps. aloe is great on my hair. aloe is in the deep conditioner I use too

After I've just relaxed my hair, for the next three washes or so I will use this shampoo then I revert to monthly or more if I have build up. The chelating properties are important for me as someone who uses a no-lye relaxer.

This shampoo contains an ingredient called carboxylic acid.A carboxylic acid group is able to readily bind to amino acids. Amino acids (protein) help the hair to hold on to moisture better. There are only a few shampoos, that I know of, that can do this. Supergirl provided this info and its changed the moisture level and how my products work, dramatically.:yep:
Here's the thread.

I have made this the ONLY shampoo with sulfates that i use:yep:

Kills 3 birds with 1 stone....neutralizes/clarifies/and chelates.....i LOVE it:yep:

When I used to use this I was using it once a week. Had no problems because it made my hair really soft

this is very good to know. im natural as well and i haven't used this on my hair yet. if it cleans as thoroughly as people say it does, then i might be up for trying it too

I use it as a clarifying shampoo when I'm trying out new DCs or other products. It's one of two shampoos with sulfates in my stash. Dr Bronner's castile soap is my go-to shampoo.

I have been using this shampoo on a weekly basis for years. It's a definite staple product of mine and I love it! :)

I'll be bringing this shampoo with me to my next salon visit. Sometimes Im a little skeptical about my salon visits. Didnt know I had the perfect shampoo sitting at home all along.

I use this product on my hair, as well as my dd (3 yrs old). It definitely softens, and lathers well!

This shampoo is my staple. It works great on my hair for some reason, I really like it. I have been using it every other week. I follow it with my favorite, Aubrey Organics White Camellia.
