I want to switch to an organic daily moisturizer versus what I use now. Which contains silicones. I've seen this brand mentioned a couple times here and wanted to know which ones you guys prefer.

I'm relaxed and type 4

Im Relaxed and I love the Root burdock butter and the Honey and Olive balm.

I'm natural, c-napp.

I love, love, love the amla and olive heavy cream.

And I hate the Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm....I don't know what it is about it. I bought an 8 oz. jar and have tried several times to make this work on my hair. It neither hydrates nor softens. After DCing my hair, I apply the product and it's like it sucks all the moisture from my hair and starts tangling it. My hair loses the slip I had when I rinsed the DC out. It just doesn't work for me. No moisture and no slip.

I Like them All:grin::

BRBC
OHHB
AOHC
Karady Tea Hair Spritz
Coco Tree Detangling Ghee

I'm relaxed and I use them all at different times for different reasons.

I love the hydrating balm but it only works if used in conjunction with either the alma and olive heavy cream or the burdock root butter cream since won't give enough moisture by itself.

I love qhemet!!! The olive and honey balm is so great... I use this after applying burdock root butter... The amla cream I just applied when I saw this post... It is thick but I rub my hands together a jillion times and apply to damp hair and I bun it up!!

I'm a relaxed 4a/b, with sparse hair and fine strands.
I own the Amla and Olive Heavy Cream and the Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm.

The AOHC is my favorite. I have to be very light handed, because it really is a heavy cream. But even a little bit of it softens and moisturizes my hair, even in the dead of winter. It's a really great moisturizer.

But I didn't like the OHHB. It didn't moisturize my hair at all. It's kind of oily, so it just sits on top of my strands. But at the same time, it was too light to use as a sealant. I use it to oil my feet and elbows before bed though, and it works fine like that. :look:

i've only tried the QBBRBC so i guess i kinda don't count BUT the QBBRBC is amaza-zing! Lol. I wanna try the QBAOHC and see if instead of moisturizing once a day i canget away with moisturizing once every 2 days? But i have no doubt that you, as a relaxed head won't like the burdock root creme. I heard some naturals didn't like it cause it wasn't heavy enough for them.

Thanks for the info guys. I went with the Burdock Root Butter Cream and sheesh this stuff is expensive lol, but you get what you pay for I guess.

you know, depending on where you live, qhemet could have a retailer there. you should check their website. for example in chicago we have 2 stores that carry qhemet

I did. I'm in maryland so there's only the DC location I can go to. Since i'm not officially driving yet and won't be able to be in that area no time soon I just bought it online. When I have my car though I will probably drive down versus paying shipping and handling fees.

I think I found a replacement fot elasta qp, and thats big for me.

I like the amla & burdock

the honey balm is too glycerine rich for me,
i use it sparingly & layer w/burdock

the samples will most likely last 8 months

the karkady is very gly. heavy too so keep that in mind.

For all you guys that seems to use different ones over the other. Are none of the moisturizers good enough to be standalone in your opinion?

I love the AOHC when I am about 8-9 weeks Post, it helps to combat dryness. I also like the OHHB when I am deep into stretching as well as the Detangling Ghee. For me, the OHHB definitely locks in moisture and combats dryness.

The AOHC and the Ghee helps keep my demarcation line strong & moisturized.:yep: I rotate them as my hair needs them.

I started out with samples of each so I could see how my hair responded to the products (and at what point), before I invested in full size jars.
