My last relaxer was March 14-15 of this year and transitioning was not going too well. I was too anxious to be fully natural! :nono: Yesterday, I had a MOMENT AND BCd. Immediately afterward, I regretted it and FREAKED OUT!! I called up my old hair dresser for an appointment. She was booked so I called this other lady and of course her money hungry arse squeezed me in. She was complaining the whole time but since I was in such shock I let her finish. She relaxed my hair, I BURNED AND WAS UNDER-PROCESSED. She said she was basing my scalp but she didn't do it properly. Any who, my hair looked and felt like a Brillo pad so she pressed it and styled it.. :nono::nono::nono: It was cute last night but now I look like I came from a hair show ROYALE in Memphis. :wallbash:

I'm going to have to quick weave it up for a few months until I am back at 2-3" so I can start fresh.

I feel like shheeeettt!!!! Good day ladies. Here are some pics. I tried to add more but the up loader wont let me.

All I have to say is even w/o makeup or trying, you are a beatuful woman! I initially didn't even see or notice your hair. I think you can work it. It'll take some getting used to, but, take care of your hair as best you can, be healthy, and I definitely think you can ROCK the heck outta a short do!

I'm so sorry this happened! :bighug:

I think you looked great with the short hair! Girl, freak out and get a wig, not a relaxer!!!! :lachen:

And don't EVER go to a stylist who complains about your hair!! :nono: I went to one who kept saying, "Your hair is so thick!" and pulled out 2 blowdryers and flat irons! She won't ever see me again!

I'm pretty sure some of the other ladies have great advice about how to get through it, I'm sorry that I don't. But you will, I promise. And you still look pretty.

You look cute with short hair and can definitely pull it off. I came in here expecting the worse, but seriously you do have the face for it.

oh no ... u shud have come on here and posted that pic before u went and relaxed !!!!

you look great and as angiet1985 said , even without tryin .

I'm so sorry you had such a horrible experience! I agree with the above posters, especially about you with the short hair. Not many people can rock a BC baldy, but you definitely can, you have a beautiful face! If you decide to keep it relaxed go to a good stylist and get a corrective. Good luck sweetie

Sorry you experienced this. I keep trying to tell people that 'going natural' is not just a physical journey BUT mental as well. smh..

Man, this is really sad news...

I'm sorry about the experience you had. Why did you choose to relax though after the BC instead of getting braids, a sew-in or a wig?

Thanks. I don't think I can even stand a corrective though. Or can I? My scalp is thumping and burrrnning still. I couldn't even sleep because it hurts so bad.

omg, why not just get it braided if you wanted to go natural?

Girl, I couldn't even tell you where my mind was yesterday.

I was running around here like a chicken with it's head cut off yesterday. Now, I see braids would have been my best option.

You look GREAT with short hair!!!! Not everyone can pull it off but you REALLY look pretty. I'm sorry this happened. Will you be transitioning again? Maybe get some braids next time. (((HUGS)))

@ bolded: I agree, her features are really beautiful so the short hair was flattering on her.

I loved my hair when it was relaxed and short but I just didn't know what to do with it while it was natural and short. I don't know WHAT I was thinking.

This is when it was relaxed and short a year and a half ago. I felt the prettiest then :ohwell:

I was going to say the same thing. Your short natural is very pretty. It's not the worst day of your life by far just a temp set back and you'll have the same hair again in no time.

The first pic is fierce, gorgeous haircut!

OP, just wear a wig like you plan and don't think about your hair too much. Keep it clean, conditioned, detangled, and moisturized underneath the wig and let it grow out again. I don't know what that lady was doing:nono:, burning your scalp then needing to press your freshly relaxed hair. But what's done is done. Just move forward and when you have enough hair get some braids or keep wigging it until you are ready to bc.

Your BC looks cute on you! I'm concerned about the burning, throbbing sensation you're experiencing right now. Maybe you should try oiling your scalp with castor oil or something to soothe it. Sorry this happened to you.

You have my most sincere empathy!

However on the bright side... you have the features to rock both long and short hair and look great! You've taken the biggest step in going natural which is getting rid of the relaxer. you could use this time to get to know your hair and which products work for your hair.

I wish you much success on your hair journey:sunshine:

I was just discussing this with my mom and this is the route I am going to take. I'm heading out later to get a few wigs. My mom is in route to whole foods for some aloe Vera and I'm going to start from there. I refuse to let anyone besides her and my daughter see my hair for the next year or two. I'm in HIDE mode!!!

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I REALLY appreciate it and All of you have brought tears to my eyes. I regret going to the shop. My hair could have made it through the BC but this relaxer I can never recover from.

I'm worried about the continued burning for you. Have you tried neutralizing again? Maybe she didn't neutralize it properly or rinse it all the way out. I know you were underprocessed, but still....

You will overcome this lil setback! You can do it!

I am looking at your BC pic and I am still trying to find out what you are or were seeing because I don't see it. At worst a trim with some incredible earrings and you would have had a gorgeous look. And I have seen BCs in LA yours would have fit right in.

If you try to go natural again, please pm me or send out an SOS so we can help you through your transition. You have 50 11 dozen BC sistahs up in this mug who would have been more than happy to walk with you on this journey. Even worst case scenario we would have recommended possibly getting some braids or twists to help you with your MENTAL transition.

I am speaking from experience. It is as others have stated physical and mental for many.

Now get that scalp and hair back in order and then decide what you really want to do and come let us support you through your decision.

I am definitely going natural again. It wasn't the texture it was more so of what am I going to do with this. I think I will be cutting off all of it to start fresh. I have to wait until these scabs heal though.

You know where to reach me and others. :yep:

I agree you need to get that scalp healed first so you start off with a good foundation.

I don't know what if anything it would do but can you use a mixture of jojoba oil and pure aloe vera juice to help with those scabs? Check with the relaxer experts and they should be able to give some great advice on those burns.

I am just so sorry you have scabs and a sore scalp :(. I think you and your mom have a good plan. In addition to the aloe vera, maybe try some neosporin ointment as well. Hopefully your scalp will heal soon (((hugs))). That hairstylist should give your money back.
