Memeber of BHM, thats where I really learned to have healthy relaxed hair. I only post in the growth and natural forums and I can assure u that there is NO cattiness in the natural section ... ita alll kumbaya up in there it like my lil haven I love it

now as for the other sections .... they actually scare me

LHCF is like a hairboard on steriods and I say that b/c for the most part the ladies here are into their hair on whole 'nother level in terms of products (natural/organic, specific ingredients/additives) and actual knowledge/research (getting into the science of hair and products)

I find that both sites provide the perfect balance of information and hair community-ness for me :)

I have tried many but I consider LHCF my public library/ encyclopedia of wisdom. Too bad that my mum who is relaxed doesn't speak English, I spend time translating for her everytime I see her now :-)

I joined Hairlista in June, haven't been on it much. Like some of the others, I spend a lot of my net time on LHCF. I will check out some of the other sites other women are members of. Although I can't join too many because I will go bankrupt.

Personally, I don't like cattiness but know that it is part of the territory when there are a whole bunch of women in one place. Sad but true.

If you ladies haven't been you should really check out Gabanna Girl (MopTopMaven's) blog..She posts almost everyday ..Her hair is too die for. She shares hair recipes as crafts and food recipes..Moptopmaven.blogspot.com

I agree, her blog is fabulous!!!

I'm like the other poster who posted a lot:

BHM that was the 1st site I ever joined
Healthy Textures
Hair2Toe
Hairlista
My Hair Sistas
Hair secrets
Virgin Hair
Nappaturality
Curly Nikki
Curl Mart Hair forum
LHCF (I lurked on here for a while just finally joined)

Some of these are phasing out due to ning.. I know I have missed some.. I know addicted..

Thanks for the info I am going to check her site out now

Iam also a member of Nappturality however I rarely go on there anymore they are a bit too militant for my liking although I am natural I do like a straight or blown out look every now and again and it is forbidden over there. Not bashing but I like to have options and I find over here on LHCF it is more helpful. There is an increasing amount of threads for naturals regarding products, regime etc as well as for straight haired naturals. I get the best of both worlds. I basically love everything about LHCF I don't need to go anywhere else.

BHM - scary
Napturality - Joined there when I was natchal in 2007 a bit militant, lurk mostly
Naturallycurly - meh its ok, lurk
Longhaircommunity - I drool over all the HL hair

My favorite by far is here. Its the most active and I learned the most about hair from here :yep:

LHC, Naturally Curly, Makeupalley & QVC ( not specifically a hairboard but we talk about hair- usually Wen- a lot.)

BHM - rarely on
Naturally Curly - lurker
Hairlista - love it
Napturality - more of a lurker - they are bit too militant and not so welcoming to any one with less than maybe 4a hair
Curly Nikki - Love it

LHCF - primary residence!

i'm on BHM and NP under my old sn, legslikewhoa. i'm starting to feel more comfortable on NP and starting to like it, when i can log in without problems. the natural section on BHM is the bomb.com. i also lurk on LHC and NC, but i'm not interested in joining NC just yet because it seems so cluttered and fast! i can't keep up lol. as for hair blogs, i lurve me some Curly Nikki, Moptop Maven, Naturally Obsessed, Afroniquely You, and The SuPreen, when she posts. i want to start an account on the Curly Nikki forum, but i'm not sure i could handle another one right now. ♥

Nappturality was the first hair board I've ever joined. (same screen name as here) I still post on there!
BHP - joined last fall but stopped posted when I went off to training
Hairlista - I have an Ayurveda Group, a Military Diva's group on there too (I just hate that when I'm on HL, I'm the one giving the knowledge. I've had ppl tell me I'm an ayurveda guru :perplexed and I feel like I'm far from. But, HL is more like the teen-age/young adult version of LHCF. I like being able to share my knowledge of what I've learned on NP and this site to those on HL willing to listen)

I'm on a few other Ning - hair care related groups. But, I never post as they are not active enough for me.

I am on nappturality, but I rarely go on there. The setup confuses me a little, and I don't find it terribly in the quest for long hair. In fact, I was on there the other day, and they were basically saying that afro-textured hair doesn't grow long.

I am also on naturalhair on LJ. It's kinda quiet in there, but I love the environment.

not to start ish or anything, but I find this VERY hard to believe. IF you indeed did read that, it was probably a post from someoen saying they didn't think that their hair was growing/that afro hair doesn't grow. There's so many of us over there that are skimming bsl or bsl or even mid back....... AT NAPPTURALITY WE DON'T DO THAT BLACK HAIR DOESN'T GROW STUFF:nono:

BHM is my home
nappurality is where i go when i have issues only naturals can understand
lhcf is just best all around..

Extremely true! LMAO @ "basically saying that afro-textured hair doesn't grow long" Have you looked in the Challenges section of the forum?!

There are like 7-8 BSL, MBL type challenges going on. The vibe of NP is having healthy NAPtural hair. Not just natural, but naptural. (please no one start chiming an talking about elitism or any of that other crap..plz...)

I'm on KISS, I joined before I joined LHCF because it's free there. It was fun for a while but then I got bored, as it just doesn't seem as active as this place, so I don't go on there much anymore.

I like to roam on Long Hair Community, BHM, and KISS....i was visiting Naturally Curly...(KinkyCurly???....)....i forget....but i'm most active on here.

i know what she's talking about. its definitely not the whole site. in fact, i believe it was just an isolated thread that was questioning black women's focus on hair length. it was just a few posters, not the whole board with that tone. ♥

BHM - First hair board I ever joined. Now I only visit if this site is down for updates or somehting.
LHC - Just lurk
Hairlista - I like the site, but I rarely go there.
KISS - rarely go there
