I have never stretched this long before and I am really trying not to relax for the duration of my pregnancy, meaning about 5.5 more months to go. So far, it's going pretty well but I am expecting it to get more challening as I go.

Anyway, I notice that a lot of naturals stay away from protein because they feel that it causes more difficulties than not.

As a relaxed sister who stretches long-term, how do you feel about protein?

Well Im not a stretcher but I am transitioning and I can tell you I would be bald if not for protein. So I rec protien. I you want natural eggs, henna gloss are good. Aphogee is the best product I have tried so far. the 2 step is stonger than the 2 minute

Kudos to you for not relaxing while preggers!

Congrats! I'm transitioning and protein is essential for me. I use DuoTex on my relaxed hair at least once a month, sometimes twice. I'll use a light protein on the full length of my hair every week. I don't think my ng necessarily needs the protein, but the light proteins don't hurt it and it ensures my relaxed ends are getting what they need.

ETA: I realized this is the same routine from my relaxed days and I only stretched up to 13 weeks then.

 Duo Tex --it's my favorite protein tx

As a relaxed sista that stretches, protein is a must for me. It keeps the hair strong. I use a mild protein (reconstructor) weekly and the strong protein treatments a couple of weeks before relaxing and the week after.

While transitioning, ( I'm a full natural now) applying protein to my hair was great ( I stilldo protein treatments) Especially if you're transitioning becuase it helps with maintaining the 2 textures within the demarcation line.

I'm 5.5 months post and I use Aphogee Reconstructor weekly. Protein makes my hair feel wonderful and I haven't had any undue breakage at all. Washing my hair is still as easy as it would be if I was 1 month post.

Protein is very important for me. I am on my 2nd. one year stretch and I totally doing PS. When I am not PS I do my take down and then a hard protein (Dudleys DRC) and every week after that I do a light protein (Aphogee 2 min). Once I am back in my PS I just cowash every other day.

I was getting concerned with my routine but I went in for a trim about 2 weeks ago and I was told that I have no splits, no dry ends and no breakage. She did do a dusting for me. I havent had a trim since Sept last year. I guess its working so I wont change.

I will be relaxing around Christmas.

I stretch and I use a light/med Reconstructor weekly as per the directions. It's the best thing I have done both for my previously Relaxed Hair and my NG.:yep:
