So, I just subscribed today and I've been yearning for advice on this issue I'm having regarding my growth. I flat ironed my hair in May and the middle of my hair is reaching WL while the rest lies around BSB-MBL. :ohwell: I've been lurking for awhile so I know that this tail thing is not completely abnormal, but I wanted to know if this will even out. I wear my hair curly about 98% of the time so I'm not yet willing to cut, but I would appreciate any advice you ladies may have. TIA
I'm attaching pictures but I also created an album.

The only way really to get rid of the tail is to cut it b/c the tail is not going to stop growing for the rest of the hair to catch up.

I've had a hair tail for years! WHen my hair was permed, I cut it all even once...IT STILL managed to grow faster than any other part of my hair!

When I did the BC, and rocked a TWA, it STILL managed to grow faster than any other part of my hair. My hair grows at slightly different rates all over my hair, so It looks like layers (ugh), but its fine. I don't plan on cutting anything even, because I worked so hard to grow it to that length!
It is what it is:)

My goal is a blunt WL, so eventually I may cut it, but I don't think I'll worry about it for now. Do you ladies think it will eventually even out?

I think it depends on the cut of your hair. If you are going for a blunt of "U" shape then it will need to be trimmed. However, if you are going for the "V" shape and it's not that noticible when curly then I don't think you need to do anytype of excessive trimming.

I say keep it until you reach your hair goal and trim the tail back some. The nape appears longer than the rest but it's just at the further part of your head that hangs longer due to location. If you measured it, it's probably the same length as the rest of your hair.

I love U shaped trims. :lick:
