hey guys where do you receive most of your moisture from? (mosturizing shampoos, rinse out conditioners, leave ins, dc's or hair lotions)

also i know the golden rule is to dc at least once a week and i do, but i don't think m benefitting from it, i just do it because you guys say to =) lol. So when you guys dc and air dry with no product in it, is your hair soft?

i heavily rely on hair lotions for moisture, and i finally found my HG!! Qhemet biologics burdock root butter cream! Its beyond amazing! I <3 it and id marry it if i could lol but i digress! Lol

but whatever u rely on pls post the name

THANKS LOTS

For moisture i rely on DC 1x a week....i NEVER airdry without a leave in in my hair....some kind of moisturizer has to be in my hair while i'm airdying otherwise i get crazy tangles and knots.

And I've been using leave-in conditioners as moisturizers lately and i seal with oil.

Haven't found a deep conditioner that KEEPS my hair moist. I usually have to rely on leave ins and moisturizers.

ETA: On wash day I use Aussie hair insurance as my leave in. To moisturize in between wash days, I use kids organics moisturizing lotion and Dove's daily moisture therapy replenishing mist.

I rely on hair lotions for my moisture. Although my DCs leave my hair moisturized I have to follow up with daily moisturizer.

I mainly rely on deep conditioners then i follow with a daily moisturizer.

Wave Nouveau has been great for moisturizing. I use just a little daily, especially on my ends. I love it!!

As long as I use a leave in and dc on a regular basis I'm good. I don't add any additional moisturizers or moisturize daily.

If I don't have an adequate DC or leave-in, no amount of hair moisturizers can help.

I totally agree with this. When my hair was all jacked up, I had to rely on any and every for moisture :perplexed. Now that its healthy, I like a nice moisturizing DC and a good leave in. :yep:

I rely mostly on my DC's for moisture. I always use a moisturizing leave-in afterwards, and use a moisturizing lotion frequently, but I find that when I don't DC well, it's harder to keep a nice, moisturized head throughout the week.

So like...the DC establishes the baseline moisture level, and then I use the daily moisturizers to maintain that level. :yep:

Since I cowash daily, I love when my hair is damp,so I have to say plain water and I add a little HS 14-1 and my hair stays moist all day and night.

Deep conditioning hands down. A good DC can transform my hair. After that I use a moisturizing lotion to keep it up until the next DC. Then I start over again

My moisture levels weren't on check until I incorporated 2x a week co-washing. Once my hair become increasly healthy there was no need to co-wash as frequently so I started just using plain old water and oils or butter and the rest was history. Also bagging my ends only made my hair very moist.

Deep conditioning keeps my hair moisturized til the next hair day, but I still try to moisturize and seal atleast once a day.

I would never DC and then air dry with no product. That would just make my hair dry and hard.

DCing helps keep my hair well moisturized for a couple of days but the daily/nightly moisturizing is what keeps my hair from drying out over the week before my next DC.

thanks guys! Chaosbutterfly and yardgirl, i guess that makes sense. It's kind of like, the dc's makes the hair retain more moisture so you won't have to use lotions and leave ins as much or as heavily? Hmm ok. I guess i'll have to keep testing dc's then cause i don't know whether eqp dpr11 is cutting it...might try ao gpb weekly and follow up with aussie moist since i plan on using heat weekly as well.

also, for those of you using juice, when you do use it, you can't flat iron, right? (cause of the high content in glycerin)

DC'ing is definitely my foundation for moisture and I maintain that moisture with my daily moisturizer

I juice before I go to bed then flat iron in the morning (I wear my hair down for a week or two after a fresh relaxer) then I might add a little juice for sheen, not sure this works with all the juices, but with hawaiian silky I have found it works.

Moisturizing lotions, just discovered Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 - love it!

I've also noticed that it doesn't feel moisturized enough when I first apply it to freshly washed hair. However, the more I use it (so throughout the week) the more it gets moisturized...build up?
Have you noticed this?

Deep conditioning with steam hands down. Then I would say my mid-week co-wash and my daily moisturizer come into play.
