Naomi Campbell's hair (or lack of!)

Shoot I don't know why you all are feeling sorry for her.

Let's face it, the second she feels like doing something about this she'll take the millions she made from making it weRK and go someplace where they'll implant new follicles or stimulate the old ones right out of slumber.

These days technology is crazy and they're learning how to perform new procedures everyday.

Feel bad for the women with a hairline like that only pulling down 20, 000 a year, lol, because they are the ones who are stuck.

Hmmm didn't know they had follicle implantation that worked. Need to look that up. I know someone who could benefit from it.

As for Naomi's hair line from the pic it does not look like permanent hair loss - it just looks very thinned out either from glue or high tension braiding. However the hair she has left looks reasonably healthy (and for what it's worth it looks like it's nice type 4B hair). If she gives the hairline a rest using different methods for rocking her hair pieces - it will grow back. Maybe that's why she's chancing having her hair showing because she's giving the hairline a rest. We might as well be real about expecting Naomi to give up her hairpieces - coz that prolly ain't happening :).

I was just about to post a thread about this in the ent forum. I wonder what happened?
She has been wearing weaves and wigs for years. I don't understand why her hair would look that bad underneath. Surely all she needed to do ( if shes not bothered about her hair or growing it)was cut her hair free short and wear a wig cap/ then put on her wig and go. She has enough money for the best hairdressers so whats the real deal.

It got worse! That makes no sense.

My hair is in 100% better condition and all I use is basically cheapo lustrasilk.

She has the money and every opportunity to do a turn around.

Dang. :nono:

That is heartbreaking. No wonder she's so mean.
I guess it's safe to say that she will wear weaves/wigs for the rest of her life, there's no going back now.

You made me spit out my water!:lachen::lachen:

this makes me thank God for my hair even more!!! OMGosh.....

and she didnt even know that was captured!! imagine her surprise when she read this!! she probably cried, then ate some ice cream, then threw it up. *shrugs*

LMBAO!

I feel so sorry for her, especially because I really don't think it can be fixed. All these years of damage, I'm sure her follicles are worn the hell out.

I don't know, it looks fixable. She has edges, just nothing BEHIND those thin edges!

Well at least her edges are natural! :look:

LOL! Even relaxed ladies got natural edges after a couple of weeks lol...

This is exactly what I was thinking AND this is a good example that I can give to my daughter who insists on wearing braids 24/7. I've just about got her to understand, and she is OK with wearing braids just two times a year but I just want to solidify it one more time.

I could picture it now....*yelling* DO YOU WANT TO LOOK LIKE THIS!??? DO YOU!!!! :wallbash:

Neith, no fair. How you gonna compare your hair to ....that? 100% better condition?! You have hair and she doesn't. You wrong for that!

Another example of why I'm glad I didn't get extensions when I had the setback (major breakage due to overprocessing) that led me here. The stylist was trying to sell me hard on them, even showed me hers, but I wasn't going for it, and so the saga of my HHJ began.

I agree that she'd be beautiful bald.

But this saddens me. I can barely believe her hair is that bad from her own mistreatment, especially with the type of money she has.

Something ain't right. She may have cancer or is sick in some way.

There really is no excuse. Naomi could pay to have someone massage her hairline everyday with castor oil if she can't be bothered to do it herself.

This website has a couple different options, like I said I'm not worried. The girl is making millions upon millions, when she feels like getting it done she'll be fixed up right quick. We all know celebrities are the first ones getting the new stuff when it comes out.

This is just terrible. I didn't know her hair line was this bad. What do yall think that could be from? Too many wigs? lace fronts?

I hate to see black women with jacked up hair cause other races just think thats why she wears fake hair. Not to change up the style, not to make the hair thicker, its cause she has no hair. So when some sista does have her hair out and its healthy everyone thinks its a weave.

Lesson: People who rock wigs/weaves do not neglect your real hair.

Sorry if I offended you

It's just that she has so many resources. Her hair doesn't have to look like that.

Meanwhile I go to the BSS for a 2 dollar tub of conditioner and some coconut oil and my hair is fine.

Just ironic to me. :)

I've seen people shave their edges for LFs on YT. Maybe she does that & the camera just caught her at a bad moment. Some people do feel that they'll never wear their real hair anyway so they're okay with shaving their edges for a LF.

I don't know - I guess I'm trying to rationalize this.

ehh, idk about that -- my sister has been in braids almost constantly since june 2008 and her hair is a luscious thick 4b BSL...

naomi just hasn't been taking care of her hair.

A cautionary tale... :nono:

*Faints* :look::look:

wow thats bad. it must be from her years of modeling too. if those stylists and designers want a look then they will get it no matter what the models go through

Modeling is not an excuse. Tyra still has her hair. I think Naomi just didn't care to buy a $5 bottle of moisturizer or give her hair a break. For all we know she slept in her lace fronts and the adhesive glue peeled her hair out.

That's too bad. I wish she'd do something about that. She has the money. Stuff like that always reminds me why I need to stick to my regimen and not get lazy! She has beautiful skin though.

No, I know you can have healthy hair even while wearing braids IF you take care of it but my daughter wants to wear braids cuz she thinks she DOESN'T have to take care of her hair if she just wears braids. I'm trying to show her that there is still maintenance with or without braids. And I would rather get her in the habit of getting accustomed to a regimen without braids so that she doesn't lose the concept when she does get braids. It's just a learning curve that we are going through over here. :spinning:

Weave wearers should not be alarmed or cautioned. Naomi's case is that of just straight up negligence. There are weave wearers who know and understand the importance of caring for their real hair while wearing a weave. I believe Naomi just don't give a d***.
